Single wall oven under counter with cooktop
Comments (6)I've had all three -- double wall ovens for many years, a free standing range for two years before my remodel, and currently a Bosch 500 wall oven with a Bosch 500 induction cooktop above. Obviouslly the raised wall oven is the most comfortable if one has the space. The deciding factors for the current configuration were (1) my desire to make a small kitchen appear as large as possible which I believe has been accomplished. Clean unbroken lines with almost no protrusion of a large appliance gives the eye continuous movement around the kitchen; and (2) the fact that as an empty nester I rarely bake any longer so the bending issue is not that important. Like Sara the Brit, I have not found the lower oven to be any more of an issue than the oven in the free standing range, no discomfort from bending. Also like Sara, my countertops had to be raised an inch to allow for the required air flow between the induction cooktop and oven below. Unless you have a bad back, I say go for it....See MoreDouble oven, wall oven, under-counter mount oven
Comments (6)I currently have an electric coil cook top, double wall ovens and the MW on the counter. My new kitchen will have a Bosch 500 series 36" gas cook top and a 30" Whirlpool regular double wall oven. The MW will go in a nook above a counter. I love having wall ovens so I don't have to bend over. When I help in a kitchen with a regular stove if feels awkward use the oven. Also, I've had both of my hips replaced and I cook enough that that type of thing matters. I went low middle of the road with my appliances and am reusing some. After reading here about the temperamental nature and need for uber exhaust with the high end ranges, I didn't feel for my needs it was worth the extra money. I'm putting my money into cabinets and good mechanical / plumbing....See More36" range or cooktop with under counter oven
Comments (15)Thanks so much for everyone's input. I would like to consider other brand 36" range that is around $2500, but I went to a few appliance showroom in San Francisco Bay Area, the cheapest brand is kitchen aid, I could not find those brand on the link. Deeageaux posts here. Does Anyone use Verona 36" dual fuel? It is only $2500. I can put the oven on my 4.5x8' island. I didn't think of cutting granite/ceaser stone cost for the cooktop. Somebody told me the oven in the range has a fan/venting system for the smoke, but wall oven doesn't. Is it true? I am thinking about induction cooktop. Not so sure yet. Rosie: only concern I have for oven not under the cooktop is the smoke(If I burn the food or grease from cooking the meat) from the oven can't be vented out by my hood. Do you find that is an issue?...See MoreWould under-counter mounting a Miele combi oven harm a countertop?
Comments (1)I don't think it would pose a problem to the counters, but I don't feel comfortable answering that. If you call Miele, you will get good advice, I think. The ventilation is for the electronics, NOT the steam. I retrofitted a combi steam in an existing cabinet, and I had to research that question. Basically, you need air circulation for electronics behind the oven....See Moretracie.erin
