gagg steam oven mounted under counter
Comments (4)We've had ours installed undercounter and in use for two years. We attached it to the sink drain; just made sure there was a steady incline down from the appliance. And--we're getting ready to do it again in a new kitchen. It is a bit more difficult to operate the controls since they slightly slant downward, as jakvis mentions, but fairly quickly you learn to set the controls without much need to look. This istallation set-up allowed us a nice drawer underneath to hold racks and pans. You MUST be careful about standing back to open it...the steam could burn your face or arms as it rises....See MoreSingle wall oven under counter, cooktop on adjacent counter?
Comments (10)I looked into installing a single wall oven under an induction cooktop (I ended up getting an induction slide-in range though). What was interesting was that most induction brands allowed it IF the wall oven was the same brand as the cooktop. This included Kitchenaid - don't know where you got your information, but the installation instructions do allow for it with certain ovens - it turns out it is the Kitchen Aid single ovens. Two brands did not allow for a single oven under the cooktop even with their own brands (well, it voided the warranty so the same thing): Bosch and Thermador. No problem with Jennair, Kitchenaid, GE, Electrolux, and Frigidaire. I think Whirlpool also didn't allow it, but I wasn't considering that brand. Don't worry about the venting. There is some venting in all ovens - whether built in wall ovens or ranges. The vents aren't any more hot for a wall oven than a regular range. The reason I chose a slide-in induction range had nothing to do with the height of the oven. The wall oven under the cooktop would have been about the same height as a range's oven. Rather, I really liked the Kitchenaid induction with its (albeit small) second baking drawer. I cook a lot and could see using this. Plus, the cost was much less for a slide-in than a separate cooktop and wall oven. Our house is being remodeled and we haven't even been able to move in yet - so I haven't used it. I hope I love it. It does look nice....See MoreGE profile 30" electric wall oven as under counter
Comments (2)“How do folks do a mix and match of ovens and cooktops?” They don't. They buy a range instead. Or they install the wall oven in, well, the wall. Not under a cooktop. For the few that do try this arrangement, we get the posts on here complaining how difficult an installation it was, or even not possible at all due to clearance issues. And the ones that manage to get it installed complain that the oven is terribly low, with the door being barely off the ground....See MoreHas your double oven range replaced your countertop oven?
Comments (4)It depends on how you use it. I have both and use the air fryer feature on my counter all the time for veggies. I also use my countertop oven for reheating a lot. It still heats faster than the 0.5 oven in the double-oven range. But I've never timed it for the exact difference. For the holidays, I used my 1.5 ovens in the range and the countertop oven to mimic the capacity of a double oven. It worked well. I only recommend the double oven range if you are very limber. The full size oven is the bottom oven (at least on my range) and it is LOW. I don't have back problems but I still hate bending to the floor to pull a heavy turkey or roast out. Also, I have dogs and it makes me nervous that the open oven is basically floor level for the dogs. I can't wait until we can do some minor remodeling and put in a single wall oven and a range with a single oven. But I have enough space in my home to pull that off. I do think the double oven model is fine in a small kitchen that needs more capacity....See Moreangela12345
