Comments (45)Hi Ailsa, Nutherokie is right, I have the CIteaux. They only started selling them in the US last summer. My Citeaux has two ovens. A gas oven in the center, an electric oven with broiler on the left, and a warming oven on the right that goes up to 250. I actually chose the La Canche Citeaux for the oven space, vs other imported traditional looking ranges. Go see a Cornue - ovens are teeeeeny. I think they make a Cornue Fe thats bigger but to me it doesnt look like a La Cornue. And the Aga ... well, a lot of folks with them have not only another oven but another cooktop! We only moved in a few days ago but I adore my stove. I had a viking 8 burner range with a gas oven in my old kitchen, supplemented by a viking electric wall oven. I stopped using the wall oven because I hated the noisy fan. I do not bake much so rarely needed two ovens. Hence the medium size gas oven, coupled with a small electric and small warming oven, is more than enough for us. And the la cornue has such a lovely flame, it's turquoise points and blue. No idea why its different that my viking flame, but it is!...See MoreLaughable's Farmhouse Kitchen Reveal
Comments (50)Well, what on earth is going on? I updated my browser and the post is still showing on my computer. This is bizarre! I'll try pasting my post again so that you can see it. Thanks for commenting Rhome! I miss seeing your posts around here, although I'm not spending as much time in Kitchens these days, either. I appreciate all the help you generously gave when we were in the planning stages. We ended up setting up a sewing area under the south windows of the master bedroom in the farmhouse. I banished the grain bins and grinder to the basement, lol! It was a pain in the romper, but it worked for the time we were there. When life got crazy with moving and renoing the new house, we switched to store bought baked goods--blech! We are just now starting to bake all of our goodies again. Keep your eyes pealed for the new kitchen reveal maybe in late winter or perhaps spring. It's very livable at the moment, but not ready for a full reveal. We still need to make the island, the hutch, paint the wall oven cabinet, and tile the bs. This is what the new place looked like when we moved in: Makin' Do and Gettin' Through Here's where the kitchen is at a standstill: Midpoint, good enough for now... But the playroom/breakfast room just off the kitchen is now a library: "Bookworms welcome"...See MoreAlmost 12 months later.. kitchen reveal
Comments (77)The appliances are: Fridge: F&P - Fisher Paykel ActiveSmart⢠Refrigerator - 20.1 cu ft. Counter Depth French Door 36" RF201ADX5 I wanted a sleek more square modern fridge not bulky and not very deep - this is the only one close to counter depth and for $1999 was not a bad idea. I don't like to have water or ice maker so this was the perfect choice for us. As far as look, the fridge goes very well with the Bertazzoni and the hood design. If budget is not an issue, I'll go with Miele Range: Range - Pro 304 GAS X http://us.bertazzoni.com/professional-series/ranges/30-4-burner-gas-range No issues so far, I'm not a baker though but I'm cooking often - it's OK, cannot compare to anything I had in the past. The 6K + ranges have more smooth railings inside etc but again budget and design - I wanted not a bulky sticking out range but close to counter depth. I like Capital Culinarian a lot but too big for my space. DW - Miele Crystal G5225SC - pay the extra $100-150 for Meile to install it. They give you extra warranty. Zephyr Anzio hood - 30'' - get a bigger one 32" if your range is 30" - I think it looks better. My second choice was Kobe. Like Vent-a-hood a lot but again budget and look. Make sure the hood is deep. MW - GE PEM31SMSS Hope this helps - good luck with your decisions - I was happy to spend not more than $6-7K for all appliances....See MoreTira_Misu's kitchen reveal (2 years later...)
Comments (29)Thanks all for your nice words. Beth09 The cabinets are made of oak and I gave the cabinet maker a bunch of pictures from Houzz. I was really inspired by these styles: [https://www.houzz.com/photos/master-suite-bath-traditional-bathroom-seattle-phvw-vp~302707[(https://www.houzz.com/photos/master-suite-bath-traditional-bathroom-seattle-phvw-vp~302707) [https://www.houzz.com/photos/capitol-hill-restoration-traditional-kitchen-dc-metro-phvw-vp~2563744[(https://www.houzz.com/photos/capitol-hill-restoration-traditional-kitchen-dc-metro-phvw-vp~2563744) I don't know the name of the stain but could check its "code" on the gallon. The whole room looks darker on the pictures than what it is in RL. The countertop is Carrara quartz if I remmeber correctly and the range is 30'' Wolf dual fuel. The fridge is 36'' Jenn Air counter depth. The floors are just natural (original?) hardwood with a semi gloss finish. The brick wall was unexpectedely there and just needed to be slightly restaured. The backsplash tiles are from Pratt and Larson. Hope that answers your questions. If not, feel free to ask again. Sheepla II'll check the stain color code tonight. Cawaps The wood and brick look very homey, and it is so nice to see someone bucking current trends and making a very personal space. I'm glad you're pointing this out. I learned a lot from my last kitchen reno in 2011. White was not for me and I regretted knocking down the wall between the dining room and the kitchen. I know most people like modern and open concept, but it is not for me. Plus, I keep thinking that trends come and go and thought it was a safer bet to go according to the house's style and age. Suzanne_sl You're giving me hope! Thanks!...See MoreMags438
