Carolfa, I have the Swanstone Ascend. It's a great sink if you really need something large, but here's the downside. It's really deep. I find the depth to be less comfortable for washing dishes. It takes alot of water to fill the sink and because it's large, the water cools quickly. I almost always end up using a small dishpan in it. The upside is that you can put a ton of stuff in it until you're ready to load the dishwasher and the shelf is a nice place to drain a few items. If you actually use the sink to wash dishes, the wash water will splash onto the stuff that's draining. Having said all that, I will say I like the sink, but I'm not crazy about it. It's deep enough and large enough that I can wash anything (including my kitchen trash cans) in it. It's a great sink if you really need that much sink, and the Granite composite seems to be easy to clean and durable without the hardness of enamel. Incidentally, I bought mine on ebay and got a very good deal.

slyee, I'm in the process of picking a sink to go with a Cambrian Black quartz counter. I just called Elkay today to find out more about their e-granite sink. They have several models, including the smart divide style. We are on a well with a water softener, so I'm concerned about wear. The lady in customer service I spoke with said they recommend Soft Scrub or the Mr. Clean eraser for marks and wiping out the sink routinely. We had originally planned to get a black sink, but after seeing the feature kitchen in the current House Beautiful, we're going with a white Elkay e-granite to coordinate with our white cabs. Can't speak to pricing...since my sister works for Elkay, I'm eligible for a very nice discount on the purchase.

If you like the design of the Kohler Smart Divide, but would rather have silgranite like material instead of cast iron, you might like what I got. It is made by Swanstone and is most likely more reasonable in price for the budget concious folks like me. The sink is being installed as we speak, and I can take a picture later and post. Obviously have not used it yet and cannot give you life experience report. But from all the silgranite sink owners we hear from here, we know it's well loved. Below is a link to Swanstone. I actually love my Kohler Smart Divide. The main reason I wanted some divide was because despite all my best efforts, we do sometimes have a few odd dirty dishes waiting to go in a full or running dishwasher...or clean dishes that need a little more drying time. I hate having counter clutter so I use the divided side to hide these items that are on hold. I can still use the larger side to clean dishes this way and because of the way it’s split, that side alone is so much roomier than any previous sink I’ve ever had. My sink is 5 years old so there may be better options out there...
