Blanco Silgranit vs. Swanstone Granite HELP!!

I dont know why I'm having such a hard time deciding on a sink.

I can't decide between the Blanco Silgranit single bowl in biscuit, and the Swanstone Granite single bowl in granito.

Or either of them in black (anthracite or nero)

Is there a quality difference between the two brands?

Is one more stain or scratch resistant than the other?

I would love a beige sink, but I'm afraid that it would stain much easier than a black one. Could anyone with one of these sinks in beige give me some guidance?

Does the 10" depth of the Blanco make a difference in everyday use? The display models seem really deep (I'm undermounting the sink).

I know it's alot of questions, but I just can't decide.

Funny, how after all the decisions I've made in the redo(cabinets, granite, paint, floor, etc.)that this is the one I get stuck on.

Please, please, any input would be a great help.

I have the blanco silgranite (1 3/4) in biscuit. I can't compare it to any other sink other than the dull stainless steel I had before. I love the feel of the blanco material! I have had no problems with scratching or staining. About once a week I use a little Bar Keepers Friend on it. I do not baby it at all.

How long have you has the sink?
I had a enamel over metal beige sink and it stained something awful. I'm concerned with that happening again.

I've visited this thread several times and it's interesting that it is still fairly active. I'm looking at the Cristadur waterfall 150 in Bronze. Wayfair carried them a few months ago with good prices but when I checked last night, there were no Schock or Houzer sinks listed on their site. I have found a supplier from Germany on eBay, his listings are rather obscure and you have to dig deep to find them. He carries the entire line including vintage models and colors; GREAT prices with a flat $145 shipping. I currently have a Swanstone in black that drove me crazy when it was new with water marks and looking dry, until I wiped it down with coconut oil a couple of years ago and I've not touched it again. It now wipes down and is cleaned continually from just washing dishes and looks brand new. I'm looking at Schock over Blanco for my remodel in a different house due to the unique look of the waterfall, but I'm worried that it might suffer from being less than utilitarian. They have a matching 15" prep sink which I plan to install as well. Anyone have any real experience with the waterfall design or Schock for that matter?

A couple folks asked what color I ended up going with - our plans are temporarily stuck with the sanitarian, which hopefully will be resolved very soon, so I didn't order the sink yet. However, my fabricator thinks the grey one will look best with our slab (esp. since DH really doesn't want the white one). After seriously considering each of the colors over time, I do think we will be ordering the grey one; I feel most comfortable with that decision.

NyefNyef By "called Blanco", I meant I telephoned Blanco's US HQ and asked them to find me their sink within a 200 mile radius of my home. They pointed me to their regional sales teams, who could not locate it readily available, or in their nat'l warehouse. They said most of the time, nobody really stocks them and they're all custom ordered. No matter. Amazon & FedEx came thru. cal Ditto! I'd love to FedEx them too. breezyThanks for answering my original question. My suspicion was that they weren't as good, just based on how often I see Blanco mentioned and never hear the other makers. And compared to what we've spent already on things, you're right that $100 is a small price to get exactly what we wanted exactly when we need it.

I ended up with a Silgranite, which I have had just a few weeks and I really like it. However, color-wise, I really liked the Elkay Quartech sinks. Whereas Silgranite is resin and granite, Quartech is resin and quartz. I would have been perfectly comfortable with an Elkay sink, because it is a very good brand, even though you hear so little about Quartech here on GW. Elkay doesn't really do any marketing to consumers they are a more commercial brand, which I think is the explanation for that. Anyway, I preferred the shape of the Silgranite sink so for me that ended up being the driving factor.

I've had the sink two months, but have had many things in it (strawberries, coffee grounds, spaghetti sauce, BBQ, etc.) I hated my stainless steel but refused to go to enamel. The blanco silgranit is a totally different material. The material is stain resistant, can't say that for enamel. Even if they were the same color they are a totally different animal. I was concerned about staining before I ordered mine and did a lot of research, mostly on this forum.

I've been researching like crazy. On this site and going to showrooms. Seems like almost everyone is talking about the black sink, all the showrooms have the black one also.
Thanks for your input on the biscuit.
During your research, did you look at the Swanstone granite sinks? I found alot of discussions about the Blanco but nothing about the Swanstone.

Actually I considered the Swanstone with the low divider, but cannot remember it's name right now. But when I researched it here I heard more positives about the silgranit and I really liked what I saw in person. I only got to see the chip in person because, like you mentioned, they really favor the black sample in the showrooms.

I'm not saying anyone said anything negative about the Swanstone. I recall one poster named Fern that loved hers. I'm sure both are good sinks. Good luck making your choice.

I have the Swanstone and am happy with it. I do see some marks on the bottom when the over-sink lights are on stun-a-deer mode; otherwise it's perfect. I chose it over the Blanco because of faucet placement. I'm supposed to get a picture of the bottom for another poster; I just can never get the darn thing empty of dishes! I'll step it up.

Tough decision
I like the Swanstone single sink because of its shape and depth, not sure about the color/pattern of the Granito, hard to judge from the small samples I saw in the showroom

I like the Blanco's color and the feel of the material,
think the 10" depth undermounted might be too deep and I'm not crazy about d-shape of the single sink model.

Dont know which to pick. I'm definitely obsessing over this.

I will be getting the smaller Swanstone undermount granite in white. Simply because I like the shape and the fact that it's not quite as deep. My neighbor is redoing her kitchen as I type and I'm hoping she uses it so I can get some feed back.

I have the Blanco super single Anthracite single sink. Love it! I had checked out Swanstone and didn't like the texture/look/feel of the sink. Have zero regrets.
