Complimentary colors for Revere Pewter?
Comments (3)I painted my foyer, kitchen, and breakfast room Edgecomb Gray, which is one shade up and on the same strip as Revere Pewter. I painted the adjacent family room Gray Owl, the dining room Chelsea Gray, the study Nantucket Gray, and the laundry room Palladian blue. It sounds like a lot of grey but I wanted a cohesive look, and Nantucket gray reads more green in my room....See MorePaint color suggestions for office, main floor is revere pewter.
Comments (6)We used this, La Paloma Gray, BM 1551 right next to Revere Pewter. When I looked at the swatch, I thought, "no way, too dark" . It is lighter than in my photo and DH & I both love it. It looks great with the white trim & my white kitchen cabinets....See MoreCold feet about BM Revere Pewter. Any suggestions?
Comments (8)BM Revere Pewter looked like battleship grey in my very bright dining room. I tested it because it was popular here, but it certainly wasn't the right color for my room or house. Maybe try BM Edgecomb Gray, which is a light greige color that can read cool or warm depending on what you pair it with....See MoreBM Aura Sea Salt lightened or complimentary lighter colors?
Comments (34)Your problem starts with selecting a blue gray white and a taupe. Look at the bottom row where I lightened Sea Salt. . . As taupe is lightened they go more beige Here are some of the selections you have tried and Pale Oak, which may work for you. You didn't specify what you didn't like about classic gray, but I am guessing it felt a bit flat. Etiquette is light enough that it really turns pink beige. Tough color to work with. Pale Oak is lighter than Sea Salt and grayer than Sea Salt, but is not so light that it goes beige. It has been known to go pink or purple if it is paired with yellows, but you only have blue and purple undertones, so I think you may be okay. An option that I didn't see anyone else suggest is sticking with Pure White. If it is glossy or satin on your trim and cabinets you could do an eggshell or flat on the walls and it will appear to be darker than the trim and cabinets. Another option is to pick either blue gray or taupe and change one of the two colors you have already selected....See Moreenright5
