trust the kitchen forum ... show me your shades in your sunroom
Comments (15)I think your shades look a bit odd for the room because the vertical trims from the windows look out of place and stand out without relationship to anything else. Another way to remedy the situation is to have drapes mounted over the shades so that there are other vertical lines that pull them together. Kind of like the last picture that boxerpups posted. (I am not sure though) If you want to use separate shades for each window, the color of the shade has to fade with the wall color so you don't see the white trim. I think this is the biggest reason the shades as is don't fit in the room. I you use larger shades mounted over multiple windows, this may make your room look squwat. You may want to play with some software and see how it looks....See MoreShow me your window treatments in your white kitchen!
Comments (1)Show us your kitchen! And what style do you gravitate to? What colors do you like? I'm not even going to do anything to my windows for the forseeable future. I have a piece of fabric (just one?....um. No.)That I keep thinking I will hold up to the window. Maybe tomorrow ;-)...See MoreFinished craftsman kitchen remodel DIY (20K
Comments (49)Wow, I don't know what made the OP bump this, but I am glad she did. This was posted about 2 weeks after I joined, and I don't recall seeing it before. What a wonderful transformation! And I am sooo impressed that you DIYed it in 5 mos. and on that budget. Superb! How do you like it 1.5 years later, and what is on your mind?...See MoreShow Me Your Fire Extinguisher Location in Your Kitchen
Comments (11)dseng, thank you for your perspective as a firefighter! I would hate to have an accident that could have been prevented, but was not, because of my "kitchen vanity". editionk, take your receipt for your kitchen fire extinguisher to your insurance agent and they'll apply a recurring discount the next time your policy renews. They may allow you to email them a scan of it. I think it increases with carbon monoxide detectors etc. In addition, every couple of years I take an online defensive driving course for about $20.00 to keep my defensive driving discount. The course more than pays for itself with the recurring discounts, but you have to take it every two or three years. rmkitchen, yes, I live in our fab capitol. I love Boulder! I did my undergrad there. Pasta Jays is my favorite restaurant. Their stuffed shells are the best. We live in a beautiful state. Where did you relocate from? Everyone, I just checked and it's not a code or legal thing, but you do get a discount on your homeowners insurance policy. brianadarnell, I'm glad that you were able to salvage the casserole. What is Thanksgiving without sweet potatoes? I hope I'm if ever in that situation. If so, I hope can remain calm....See MoreSherriode
