I like the painted option. If you are on a budget you should check out Ikea's cabinets - they are the best value out there IMHO

Probably a failure of imagination on my part but I think of pine as more casual and comfortable and I find the darkish red wood sort of at odds with that while I find the white door style very ornate for the floors (which are lovely). Maybe a combination of the first door style in white or a more mid tone stained wood cabinet. Just a thought.

I have old heart pine floors - mine are oiled which makes them approx. the color of the reddish cabinet - & my cabs are plain & flat panelled inset, painted with a greenish black milk paint. I can't recommend a brand because mine were built by a local guy & I did the finishing.

Are you sure your floors will be the above color when refinished? Usually heart pine becomes reddish if a penetrating finish is used, although if it's poly'd maybe the raw color remains because the finish sets on top.

I love dark wood with your natural heart pine, but I think the cabinet you showed is a bit too red and also a bit too formal looking (color...not style). I think painted or a more brown-based wood would suite the floors better.

I really like the red tone to the darker wood cabinet and I think it would go well in contrast to your floors. We have 96 year old heart pine flooring the color you picture in the main rooms of our home, the original pine wood trim and doors are stained kind of dark and I have lots of mahogany and cherry furniture. I like the contrast. We did tile floors in our kitchen, since the heart pine was not there when we removed the old vinyl. But we kept the wood trim & doors darker stained pine in the kitchen and did the cabinets in a honey spice stained birch to try and tie the color in with the heart pine floors in the main rooms. It worked pretty well (although honey spiced pine cabinets would probably have worked even better, but they would have been softer, too many knots and more expensive to boot). It is hard to know what to do. But all that said, I like your reddish wood shaker cabinet doors.

We have heart pine flooring of a couple of different vintages in our home. It will get darker and redder with age and exposure.

I had it on the ceiling in one room, and over the years it has that same dark-cherry look as in the pic above.

The colors that I have found look good with it (since it's a huge room and sort of dominates things, even in nearby rooms, I have to match it) are yellow-ish and cream colors, yellow-y green colors, and (especially) black. Black looks so beautiful with that color that I think it would be a shame not to have at least some black in the kitchen, even if it is small.

Cherry or mahogany cabinets will wind up looking very similar in color to the pine, which might be fine or might look weird. It's definitely more of a rustic look, so I say painted cabinets in a greenish, creamish, and/or black-ish color would be pretty. A blue-ish green-ish color would look nice, too, sort of a martha stewart color. To my eye white doesn't really work with it.

Hmmm... that's odd, my heart pine floors have been refinished natural (no stain) for about 15-16 years and they have not turned red at all. Wonder if it is the nature of the finish applied? Ours have a water based poly finish. They have darkened a teensy bit, but not much, and are just about the color the OP pictures above.

I have heart pine floors with natural cherry cabinets which are finished with beeswax. It's a very informal look- euro country probably, which goes with the age of the house. In the right house, they could be paired with very modern finishes, too. I think as a mid-toned wood, heart pine is pretty neutral. I used a designer who told me I could use a variety of wood tones as long as they were all different and not matchy-matchy.
