Is this a rectangular sink? Why can't it be centered? Maybe I'm missing something.

No, it's got an arched back, that extends 2" past the corners. In other words, if it were square, it would only be 18 13/16" wide front to back, but with the arch it's 20 13/16". I have limited choices b/c I only have a 30" cabinet to work with and I know I want silgranit. This is the largest one that will fit, but its shape may require the offset faucet. Ughhh!!

Oh got it now. I considered that sink in my layout for a while until I found a layout allowing me a bigger sink. I was in the same boat. Wanted a silgranit, wanted as big a sink as I could get, and could only come up with that as an option. I really didn't like the curved top either.

The only faucet I could think you might consider is an old fashioned bridge faucet that stands up on two wide-set legs. Do you know what I mean? It doesn't have the modern convenience of a pulldown though.

I think you may have room for a narrow single-hole faucet (we're getting the Kohler Simplice, see link below, and using it without the escutcheon plate.) Having looked at the Simplice, I think you'd have enough room behind the sink for it, but if you're not sure you could either (1) have them bump out your sink base 2" or (2) get a faucet, wait until template day, and see whether it can be mounted behind, while knowing that you might have to settle for off-center placement. Either way you'll be good!
