Can Plug Mold (Wire Mold) be shortened?
Comments (4)The outer casing is cut with a hacksaw, the wires must be trimmed according to instructions (and nutted, etc) then the end caps are re-inserted. Save any spare outlet modules for future breakage, as they may change the design and be hard to come by. Casey...See MoreBest place to buy white plug-mold?
Comments (5)Thanks Drybean and A2Gemini. I'm only finding Ivory on Home Depot's site. We're looking to put this on the underside of a windowsill (painted white) that goes nearly to the counter, so we can't really hide it like you would under a top cabinet. Maybe an outlet in a drawer would be better. ??? The window is about 53" wide with power only to the right end of it. The other end butts up against the stove....See MorePlug mold or hidden outlet?
Comments (5)I've got hidden outlets--the outlets are mounted to the underside of the cabinets. The light rail trim piece completely hides them so there is nothing to show in a pic as you just don't see it unless you're deliberately looking under the cabinet. I love them. The plugmold presented a problem for us as it was thicker than the outlet boxes we were able to get and would likely show & it only came in black & tan--my cabs are white so it would stand out like a sore thumb. Hidden outlets are the way to go IMO....See Morehow were your plug molds wired?

At worst, you may have a box on one end of the run protruding into the "inside" of the cabinet (but even then I suspect there are ways around it). Unless you're cabinet is so thin on the bottom that the mounting screws with protrude into the cabinet. Still there are probably ways around that (is there also a lighting valence?)....See Morejscout
