Too bad!! I will be in NYC this wknd for some fun. Probably won't be making it back in July. Any cool kitchen places/showrooms to shop/browse or other such tips would be much appreciated from you cool NYgrrrls! Looking not necessarily to buy but more for ideas/inspiration, esp around the cabs since we're having them made, and FLOORING - our dilemma de jour. eliz

The 12th might not be good for Caroline but I will keep everyone posted..... it will be sometime in and around that week/weekend.

I can hardly wait to get back to the city. I will be there from 7/2-7/16 this time. I am housesitting my DB's apt and cats !! Gotta have an excuse to come back :)

Anyone interested in doing some stuff on other days would be most welcome too. I have no plans except to relax and go to the park a lot and see some stuff I missed last visit. So will keep our CD posted as to best group date...it will definitely be the 12th or 13th.

The 12th it is! We can do lunch, dinner or both, with some hanging out/walking around in between. If you want to join us for any/all of the above, please let us know ASAP so we can make plans, reservation(s), etc.

One thought we had (if they can accomodate us), is to do the Boathouse in Central Park for lunch--a little pricey (?) but a beautiful setting in the summer--gotta love those ceiling fans on the porch ceiling! That way we can meander through the park a little after lunch (walk off what we ate!), or find a shady spot to sit and chat some more.

Other suggestions for places of interest, etc. are welcome!

I, unfort., will be in Hawaii. So I'll miss the get-together.

The day was hot enough, attendance was a little bit down.

I remember having a stand for lemonade in about 1955 or so. My brother and I each made $ 60. Pretty big take back then , We lived across the street form the grain elevator for the whole county. The farmers lined up with their wagon loads in the early AM. They were so thirsty and we made a haul !! I used mine to buy a Schwinn bike. I had that bike til the 80's. Saw one like it for sale in the Village and thought about getting another one while I am in NYC...nostalgia.

So sorry we won't be seeing you ! We are hoping to get together again in the Fall when I return so maybe then. c

I read with great interest about your get-together and really enjoyed seeing all of you and connecting actual faces with names. Sounds like you had a marvelous time.
Trailrunner, I was interested in you because of your name and I too am an avid trail runner (we live in Oregon and the trails here are amazing - if you ever come out this way I'll take you on a run).
I'm so jealous as I wish I could come and meet you all in one of the greatest city's of the world.
I don't need to say it, but have a great time.

Boo hoo, I can't make it on the 12th but I'll be there in spirit. I already told Cat_Mom to keep me posted on future get-togethers.

update; We're on for the 12th. We're waiting to hear back from The Boathouse in Central Park for brunch/lunch (12:30 if they'll take us), and we'll be making a reservation at Becco (in the theater district) for dinner. As of now, we can make a reservation anytime between 7:00 and 8:00 if more people can make earlier or later, we'll go with that (if the time we choose is still available when I call back).

I will email the peole who've indicated interest in joining us. If you haven't already said so, and want to join us for brunch/lunch, dinner or both, please let me know asap re: any/all of the above, so I can make those reservations.

Boathouse was a no go, so we have a reservation for 12:30 at Blue Water Grill (Union Square) next Saturday, the 12th. So far there are 9 of us. If you'd like to join us, please let me know soon so I can increase our numbers for the reservation.

I will be making the reservation at Becco for dinner for that same day (if there is still availability) for Caroline, my DH, and myself. If you can't make lunch, but can join us for dinner (or if you can make both!), please let me know that as well.

As of this morning, there are 9 of us meeting this Saturday at The Blue Water Grill @12:30.

I made a reservation at Becco for dinner @7:30 for Caroline, my DH, and myself. If anyone frees up and would like to join us, you are more than welcome so don't hesitate to let me know. If anyone reading this can't make the lunch, but would like to join us for dinner, please contact me and I'll increase the reservation to include you!
