I _think_ rev-a-shelf makes many different kinds of openers. Maybe they all have fancy names to distinguish them and I never paid attention? Maybe that's why sometimes you find items in the clearance that look like what's still selling at MSRP, even with the same numbers; maybe the closing systems change? I have a trash pullout that looks like badgergals, but there's some signficant resistance to pulling it out. I don't mind it, but it's not "soft". I have another trash pullout that's a completely different design. There are no pulleys or mechanism, really, for opening. They just glide out - smaller, aluminum cans. That's very easy pull out-puch in, but there's no self-closing mechanism at all. It's also RAS. To tell you the truth, it none of it matters to me all that much. Not as much as some other annoyance-parameters in the kitchen. I think a lot of thought goes into all this blum/soft-close hardware stuff when it may not quite warrant all that attention, at least not comparatively. YMMV of course. And I'm not saying it's not good to think about this stuff. Just that IMO making a "mistake" on this decision won't be really terribly horrible. =0.02 Badger, those curved cabinets of yours are so very elegant!

Regarding (2): what do you plan to put in there? I would think that even spices might be hard to get out with 4 tiers because the one above is in the way (except for the top tier, of course). I put a rev-a-shelf 5WB2-0918-CR in my 11" frameless base cabinet and I love it. It only has 2 tiers, and I put oils, vinegars and other bottles in it. I only attached the bottom shelf to the door, so when I pull out the door, all the bottom shelf stuff is visible. If I want something from the top shelf, I pull it out separately. We have been really happy with this setup because everything is very visible and accessible. The only thing I don't like is that it is only 18 inches deep, so there is wasted space at the back of the cabinet, but they don't make deeper one. I can't comment at all on number 1, but I also thought about doing what you plan in 3, but in the end I didn't. It should work well, though, I think. Good luck!

The drawers on the right side, will be full length with the "face" towards you when you pull them out. 3 sides will be about 4 inches high while the "face" side will be very low - maybe even with no side to facilitate easy pulling out of items. The cabinet can be wheeled out to access items which are in long term storage. It will have a door which has a toe kick piece to conceal the wheels.
