kitchen eye-candy...a new website to look at

Found an ad for this design firm in a local magazine. Wow. I usually find 1 or 2 to like, but I would be glad to have most of their kitchens. The kitchen and house entitled "3 Blind Mice" particularly wowed me, and it was the stove wall for "Ship Shape" that caught my eye in the magazine ad. I just wish the photos were larger...

Not at all trying to spam for them...Just thought the kitchens were fun to look through and thought I'd share.

I do own "The Well-Designed Mixed Garden". It is a pretty good book. Traci's style is not exactly mine, but there is a lot of good information. It would be very helpful if the tables in the back were available in electronic format. My biggest complaint about that book is the size. I do 90% of my reading in bed and it is just too big and heavy for that. I see that the local library has "Timeless Landscape Design" on order. I submitted a hold request so hopefully they will notify me when it comes in. I know that a major reason that Gordon Hayward's books have connected with me is because I really like his style. There is something about reading about design concepts and seeing concrete examples that I would love to have in my own garden. "The Welcoming Garden" seemed to be mostly other people's designs with Gordon throwing in commentary. I also could not quite figure out all the plan diagrams that seemed to be randomly scatter through out the book. Do they match any of the pictures? I did not think that it was nearly as good as "Taunton's Front Yard Idea Book" (another book that I need to borrow or purchase). - Brent

Tile eye candy - websites for colorful Mexican/Moroccan tile

Fireclay has a lot of traditional Mexican style tile. Also look for Ken Mason tiles. I love the cement tiles as well but you need a skilled tile person who has done cement tiles before and knows how to do it vertically. The tile may also stain and you need to seal (which may change the color) and add a sheen.

Mama, I've been going back an forth on the prep sink ... not really wanting to disrupt that stretch of work space. Do you think it's a must, in this plan? As for the fridge, it will be a SZ single door, fridge over freezer. I like the bookshelves, too, and am hoping to make it a pull out to expose a hidden broom closet. (Oh, and the aisle dimensions are counter to counter.) Benjesbride, the front room will become the DR, but could always revert back to a LR for future occupants. Because of all of the windows, I'm exposed to all of my neighbors who walk or drive by -- makes it impossible to hang out in my jammies on a lazy day! I also want to keep a formal DR, so this space suits my needs well. I'm eliminating a separate LR and making it part of the K. I have a rather large FR a few steps down for overflow.

I just found 'Nesting Area,' too! Another favorite. And Capitol Improvements is no slouch.

Urban Barn has a great pantry setup. Web Spinner shows some ingenuity in camouflaging the space and closing off the kitchen from the family room. Love the library in Drop Ins Welcome, and the sink wall in Old School Salvage... ;-)

Oooooh, I'd seen this site before but didn't know there was more to see than the remodels listed on the project page (and 2 of them are repeated so there aren't as many as you'd think). Thanks, rhome, for pointing out that there are more! I never would have found the rest if I hadn't gone hunting for the ones you listed by name.

Yummy eye candy! Love, love, love the library corner in Drop Ins Welcome. I think I could happily live in it. And the sliding barndoor hardware on Tall Nonfat with the outdoor bar/window to the kitchen. Just fabulous! And the bathrooms in Home Is Where the Heart Is. And the window seat in Capitol Improvement. So many gorgeous touches.
