Comments (6)Thanks so much for your input everyone! Bevangel, special thanks to you for modifying my picture. It definitely helps to have a visual! I think moving the doors further into the hall will work, and should be very easy for the builder to do. We'd lose a little more exterior hallway space (the bedroom doors were originally at the dotted line), but having the longer hallway within the master bedroom will be more dramatic. I too have ordere the KA french door (counter depth) and an Electrolux wall oven which will be right next to it on the right. I'll be ordering cabinets soon, have already bought appliances. Comments (2)If the door hits the floor and then reverses it is closing a little too far. On the side of the motor unit you will find the 'down limit' control. Comments (14)"would touching mouldings be bad" It happens. Delineate the meeting point in the center of the angle.. Where the 6"casing meets the other (5" ripped down) door casing. Deliniate the 2 by using a 3/16" strip and carry it proud by an 1/8". In short you continue with your casing choice trim left and right door out with 6" and in the middle door rip them down and sandwhich a strip in between them(on both sides of center door vertically from floor to top that extends outward with whats called a proud reveal, omit base in this area and paint the mess white and forget about it. common period vintage detail....See More- 13 years ago
