Sink base question - pull out from wall?

I have a tiny kitchen. My cabs are finished white on all sides (not the back that touches the wall). Is it possible to install the sink base so that it is out a few inches from the back wall? This would allow me to get the sink I want and have the faucet installed behind the sink rather than to the side and have the countertop swing out a bit to follow the sink base. I do not have a special sink base with fluted or angled sides, just a 27 inch sink base with straight sides. The sink base is between a DW and 36 corner lazy susan cab. I do hope to get a stone countertop down the road.
