I wasn't sure where to post this question. I am installing oil rubbed bronze doorknobs throughout my house. I have ORB hardware in my kitchen and ORB (some with crystal) light fixtures in my home. However, my master bath and powder room have brushed nickel light fixtures, faucets, and hardware. Is it preferable to have the doorknob be ORB on one side and brushed nickel on the inside of the bathroom? Is this half-and-half look out of style, or soon to be out of style? Is it better to have all of the same doorknobs in the house (ORB)-- even though the bathrooms are in brushed nickel? Any advice would be helpful.

Thanks everyone! If you look at the unbrushed light you'll see it takes on the yellow hue of my cabinets and wall paint. The original finish was so shiny and mirror like, it reflected everything. NOT what I wanted. The brushed finish is truly silver and lovely. @brickeyee, I did notice that when I brushed the top curved part, after a while it would take on the red color of the abrasive ball. Perhaps the plating was thinner there? It was in an inconspicuous spot. After that I took care to brush a little lighter. @fouramblues and redlover I saw the exact pendants on shades of light ($319 each) and found them much cheaper on Bellacor ($220). They are a few inches smaller though, but the larger ones are too big for island pendants IMO. The cage part on mine are about 11W x 14H, add about 6H for the curved part. Bellacor also carries the larger size for $309. Oh and I saved 10% by using the code CAP10 so they were actually $198 each. If you look at the site they have 4 on clearance for $121.97!!!! That wasn't offered when I bought mine and I would have been all over that!!! It says re clearance items.....Find the biggest mark-downs in Bellacor's Clearance Center. Items have been returned and inspected/verified to be in new condition. Due to the substantial price reduction that is offered through the Bellacor Clearance center, items purchased on clearance are not returnable. Aloha - the picture is sort of deceiving - The granite, which is called "spider gold" At the warehouse is, from what I understand, A ghibli granite. I have not seen it anywhere else and the owner of the warehouse hand picked the pieces in India himself. (Not that that makes It not a marble). It is reminiscent of some ghibli that I have seen online, and is supposed to be one Of the harder granites. That being said - it was the one piece I couldn't get a sample of...so I hope I am not making a crazy and costly mistake! My fabricator has the granite in his shop and has seen it...he didn't say anything. I was thinking of posting and asking her what she thought. So sorry for the long story...! Thanks

I agree -- I think ORB will be too dark since your cabinets are dark. In my last kitchen I had mahogany-stained cabinets and a dark-ish granite countertop (Sapphire Brown), and I used brushed nickel (or something that resembled the stainless steel of my appliances and sink) cabinet pulls, and it looked great. I recommend that you buy 1 of each at HD or Lowe's and take them home and see what they look like in person. The small investment of money is well worth the piece of mind before you go out and buy ALL your hardware at once. Good luck!
