Plain white subway backsplasheven over 48' range?

Hi guys,

My newly remodeled kitchen has all but the backsplash installed. I am planning to install 3 x 6 white/off-white subways in a running bond pattern. I can't decide whether I should have some sort of simple design (a "picture frame" perhaps) underneath my 48" range. I am considering using a frame of pencil liner with the same subway tiles inside, except laid out in a herringbone pattern. I am very open to other ideas as well.

I am leaning towards just using the same running bond pattern throughout the backsplash, but was concerned it would look a bit unnaturally "empty" under the hood, if you catch my drift.

My cabinets are painted pearl white with a glaze on it, and my countertops are Bianco Romano granite.
