I'm afraid I already know your answer....

Hello--this is my very first post. I have been a lurker for a long time. We are now seriously starting on our kitchen remodel. We are in a house we had built about 20 yrs. ago.

We have a hardwood floor in a medium maple that we are keeping--it is about 3 yrs. old.

We are planning a pretty traditional kitchen, keeping the same footprint. We have picked a medium/darkish cherry raised panel perimeter with (perhaps) a small creamy (beadboard?) island. We had picked Venetian Gold granite. On a lark I brought home an Absolute Black granite sample & my husband & I both fell in love with it & how it looked with the cherry.

Now my question/problem. We have bisque/biscuit appliances which are too new & too expensive to replace. The kitchen designer says Absolute Black won't go & we can look for a gold granite with more black in it. She doesn't understand, we don't want more black in gold, we like Absolute Black.

So do I go with Venetian Gold & regret that I didn't get what we wanted, or go with the Absolute Black & think every time I go in the kitchen that it doesn't really "go" with my appliances.

Please be honest in your answer. I need help. We are just @ a complete standstill, so much so that I'm not sure I want to continue & right now I have solid country blue laminate countertops--LOL!

Thanks!
