I used Marblus Granite in San Jose for the bathroom in my previous house. They did a very nice job. I'll be using them for the island, bathroom and hall niche in the house I'm currently remodeling.

I used Bracho Marble & Granite in Newark. I got 3 estimates and they were the cheapest by a fair amount and also Da Vinci Marble, where I got my marble, recommended them. But I will say this, if you want to specify how to template the slab, make sure they mark front and back. One of my pieces ended up backwards, which I actually liked better, but still, be very specific how you want it laid out. Oh, also, Henry got me a discount on the stone even though I had chosen and had a deposit on it already. I can't remember how much I paid, I will find out tomorrow and let you know. Marble install was one of the most exciting days of my life, ok, well, you know, you get a little TKO when you spend any time here on GW.

I bought our granite at Jerong Marble and Granite (they have great prices on precut slabs and LOTS of selection) in Union City/Hayward and had it fabricated at GraniteKraft in San Jose.

GraniteKraft had great prices, they were willing to beat competitors prices, and they were fast and I was happy with the quality of work. When you look them up on Yelp at first glance it looks like they have negative reviews, but somehow all the positive ones have been "filtered". I guess I should leave one myself... ;)

I used Bracho too and yep, Henry did the discount thing (we bought at Natural Stone in SJ). I didn't have anything complicated (a stacked backsplash and a fat counter) but everything went fine.

They do insist you look at the template on the rock before they cut (I guess look for the front vs back!) and if Henry doesn't think your cabinets/substrate/corbels/etc. aren't up to the job he'll make sure that's fixed (by you) before templating.
