Miele dishwasher - convert stainless to panel ready?
Comments (1)Yes, you'll just need to order the "h" bracket that comes with a panel ready model. They are around $150. You can probably sell the SS door / handle to recoup some of the $$$...See MorePanel ready dishwasher or stainless steel?
Comments (21)I want to set straight the statement that Jakzof3's carpenter said about KA panel-ready dishwashers, for people who may be shopping for a panel-ready DW. It is NOT that KA dishwashers "are not as nice paneled". These sorts of blanket statements bother me (by the way, since it's paneled, doesn't how "nice" it is also depend on the panelling itself?). Anyway, the difference between KA dishwashers and Miele or Bosch is that the KA is about 1/2" deeper than the european dishwashers. It holds more than european dishwashers too--just bring some of your dishes and pans to a showroom, and you will see. But because the KA is slightly deeper, it will not be exactly flush with your base cabinetry if your base cabinetry is the standard 24" deep. This difference is not noticeable in a stainless steel door, but it would be noticeable if you are panelling the dishwasher to blend with your other cabinets. People on this forum have reported digging out the drywall behind the DW by 1/2" and getting the paneled door to be flush that way, or using a thinner panel, and making it flush that way. We bought the panel-ready Kitchenaid knowing in advance that it would be slightly deeper. The depth was no problem for us, because we were making our counters 3" deeper than standard, i.e. 27" not including counter overhang. We pulled the 24" deep base cabinets away from the wall by 3" to create the deeper counters (love them by the way--will never go back to 24" deep counters). So the slightly deeper panelled KA was no problem for us, and it sits flush with our cabinetry. The KA is as "nice" as other dishwashers we looked at. The Bosch and Miele are excellent, but for us, the Bosch seemed too small, and while we loved the Miele, we couldn't spend the $1200 more for it....See MoreIKEA panel for panel ready dishwasher
Comments (42)Hi @Anna K. & others! Your DW looks great! I'm about to order the new Bosch Dishwasher & also want to use RINGHULT with the Blankett handle as you did! [I currently have old Ikea Abstrakt doors but I'm told Ringhult is the same]. I see that you that you used a cover panel, not a door like many others here have. The panel is ⅝" thick. Bosch says not to use a panel less than ¾" . Also there is no Ringhult panel. It looks like the Forbattra Cover panel is what matches the white gloss doors & since they are ⅓ the price of Ringhult, I would love to use that. Did you use the Forbattra panel? For those who have used an Ikea 24 X 30" door, some have mentioned that there are pre-drilled holes in the doors where the Bosch screws go. Has anyone had a problem with that & how did you work around it? Thx!...See MorePanel Ready Bosch Dishwasher wont sit flush with cabinets
Comments (50)A panel front dishwasher DOES NOT sit 2" out from the cabinets. That is not normal. Period. I'd be mad if it sat 1/8" out from the cabinets. I have a panel front Bosch and inset cabinets. My dishwasher sits perfectly flush with the cabinet faces. That is the way they are designed the be installed. The hose is your problem. You have to pull the DW back out and pull the hose into the cabinet under the sink as someone else pushes it back in. Do this and you will have plenty of room for both the DW and the panel front. Spend some time getting the panel to sit flush, level, square, and with an even reveal (gap around the sides of the panel). There are feet you can adjust on the front, and a screw in the front center that adjusts the back leg. Once you have that, install your brackets to hold it in place. If the job is too much for you or your husband, have a pro do it. You'll both be happy you did....See Moreathensmomof3
