New Granite Installed with a small chip

Our granite counter was just installed and DH noticed a tiny chip, smaller than a pea an not noticeble. Next to the chip is an area about one inch in length that seems to be unpolished. Both are minor and not noticeable unless studied closely or felt.

The installer tried to fill the chip with epoxy and buff it, but he said the hole is too small and needs to be drilled deeper with a dremel in order for the epoxy to set and adhere. He did not have a dremel, so he schedule an appointment to come back later in the week to work on this. He had no solution for the one inch area that is matte looking instead of shiny.

Anyone know whether I would just be better off leaving it alone? Is it worth it to try to repair? Is it common to have minor imperfections in granite?
