Backsplash ideas for bianco antico counter

Hi,

We are renovating our kitchen and need help with the backsplash. We are getting espresso cabinets. The floors are going to be a light to median gray slate porcelain tile. Today we selected bianco antico granite as the counter top (we fell in love with it). We are wondering what color and type of backsplash will work. Originally we were thinking of glass mosaic tile backsplash. We are not sure if this will look to busy. We are open to different ideas. Please help!!!

How about a larger size glass subway tile in a single color. You can accent with some mosaic. Depends on your layout how'd it would look best and of couse the style your going for.

For some reason, after reading the colors of your countertop and cabinets, this stone I used last year in a health club jumped right out at me. It's a sandblasted emperador dark marble (different from tumbled, in that it's got a much more rustic finish):

It's beautiful!!!! Check out this tile, it was actually one of our favorites until I decided to go the white route. Mandala Tile, Sinu Collection, Color: Stingray. You will not believe how well this works with this granite because it is not a flat color. Seriously, go find it and take a sample of the granite with you, or bring home a piece. Your counters and bs are lovely! I can see why you don't want them covered by anything... I find our sons and my dh are oblivious and think they can just drop their stuff everywhere. It is an uphill battle. It does not help that I work on the weekend and they are home or running in and out. It doesn't take a CSI tech to figure out everything they did all day, lol... I will work on housebreaking them all until it sticks. I bet if a few things go missing, they may be more careful where they dump their possessions ;).

Everything looks beautiful so far, and I'm sure what ever you choose the result will be lovely. I am not a fan of the 4" border concept. It reminds me of the 4" laminate bs of yesteryear. I love the subway tile. I'm not sure which mosaic you think of as the basketweave, but you might want to consider using the small stone square mosaic with the large central pewter accent (just to the right of the stove) in a rectangle with a border/frame around it above the stove. You'll want to think about the spacing of the accent tiles - 4 as you have them, or 6 (mimics the burners) or three in the center. It's hard to know without tile dimensions but you'll figure it out.
