I think I've narrowed it down to Julia (I think this is half oiled):

Or Black Venata (I think this is oiled):

Background: cabinets will be a shaker style off white (KM Huntington with Biscotti), and oak wood floors. I have three young children (13, 7, and 3), and we are very hard on the kitchen. I don't mind the green tones in the Julia - I looked at Brazilian Nights, and that was not only too green, but the veining in it was very busy - not really veining so much as spots.

I know that Black Venata is softer - will I really need to have sandpaper nearby? I think what it comes down to is what will be a longer-term, more classic look?? I am really torn. The BV is on sale and would save me ~$400, but that's not even influencing me - I'll pay the extra for Julia if it makes sense. They are both beautiful, so I can't lose either way, but I guess I need a few more opinions.

So, what do you think?
