kate, aren't the light colored sink grids covered in vinyl or plastic? You wouldn't be able to put a hot pan down on that.

yes, they're covered with some kind of coating or plastic. i had one in my last house after kitchen remodel. i don't normally put hot pans in the sink. usually leave them on the stove top to cool. never had an issue.

so, does it match the sink? appliances will be stainless.

Stainless. Sooner or later all white coatings over wire wear out and look tacky -- at least that's my experience throughout the house.

Stainless. They always look good & aren't sensitive to heat or staining.

Our prep sink grid has a coating, & already there's a rust spot developing where it butts up to a side of the sink.

Another vote for stainless. It would seem like a crime, almost, to put a plastic coated grid in one of those beautiful sinks.

yes, i know. stainless. there's a few on ebay for just under $85 in biscuit. i can't do it though... the stainless is also coated but i just know the biscuit or white would look to plastic-y ...to me anyway. i was just hoping someone would say, oh, yes, get the biscuit it's perfect and you don't need to spend any more crazy money so go for it.

i guess we all want the stainless which is why the biscuit is on ebay. the stainless NEVER shows up at a bargain price!

I was thinking stainless, as well. The 36" one is $154!! Great sink, though -- my neighbor came over to take a look at my kitchen and told me she now has "sink envy."
