Off white cabinets with white marble backsplash??
Comments (5)Cream colors (most off whites fall into cream categories) and white/greys don't usually look good together. They make each other look dirty. Get a few pieces of the white marble tiles and get a door sample in your color. Bring them home to your kitchen, for your lighting, and put them next to each other and see what they look like they. If you see color like most people do, you're not going to think they look good together. Get a back splash that's warmer/beige in hue or a completely different color than white. That's just my opinion. Not written in stone....See MoreLyra vs Lagoon quartz with marble backsplash and white cabinets
Comments (6)I agree with TCK, but it can be done. I have Silestone Lagoon and Miram Blanc marble tile from The Tile Shop and it looks great. Also no grease issues that some warn about with marble. My tile looks the same...going on 5 or 6 years now. I think I did the kitchen around 2012 or 13. I like Lagoon a lot better than Lyra personally. And Lagoon isn't too white...actually has a bit of gray to it....See MoreI've narrowed it down to two backsplash options (I think)
Comments (28)Carolae, thanks for the recommendation of Nemo Tile. I spent time looking at their glass tile and I've ordered three samples. Crossing my fingers. Wolfgang80, I ordered a few Heath samples when I first started looking for tile. None of my samples worked especially well with our counters. I love their tile though. I feel like Tabarka is a little rustic for my other kitchen elements. Nicole R and Shannon, you've confirmed one of my concerns. I was afraid that the glass pencil mosaic might feel dated. I do like the softness of glass though, so I'm looking at some larger format glass options. PamA and Barnkatz, I've gotten several samples from TileBar, but will go back and take another look. I already have a sample of Diesel Camp White Canvas that Pam suggested and it's a pretty good option. The color works with the marble and it has a very subtle texture up close. I'll take a picture of it with the counters later. I'll go back and look at TileBar again because I like most suggestions that both of you made. AboutToGetDusty, the Sonoma glass tiles are beautiful. When I initially looked at Sonoma I was only looking at their ceramic tile, none of which grabbed me. I really like some of the glass colors. Thanks for all the help so far!!! I'm off to research some of my now options!...See MoreHelp! I may have chosen the wrong backsplash
Comments (24)(late comment that might not be needed anymore) I ran into making a poor choice of backsplash color recently. The color looked different installed than sitting on my counter and began looking lavender instead of gray in a white, creamy kitchen. Since I loved the shape and movement of the tile itself, I decided to research painting tile! YES, that’s right painting! And to add to my dilemma, it was a high gloss tile which naturally made it more risky. My husband called me crazy but damn it I was determined! After watching some videos, shopping the materials and two full days of hard labor, I did it and guess what? It looks amazing and I’d do it again. Even my husband who is super critical told me he was impressed! If you’re going to sell anyway, and think it really needs the facelift to do the job, paint it! Others are right about people coming in and wanting to put their own twist of style anyway, so why not. It only costed me $250 to turn it around and I smile almost every time I look at it! :) Good luck!...See Moreginny20
