Finished kitchen! White cabinets, black countertop, walnut floor
Comments (39)I do not know how the oil rubbed bronze finish will be affected. Our has the dark brown patina finish as you can see but the outside of the sink will probably never change in color because no water or other juices touch it. The inside of our sink can get black rings if we leave dishes or pots and pans in it overnight where it is wet or if there were food juices in the sink. But, that goes away after 2-3 days. We love the sink and it is soooo easy to keep clean. Basically rinse it out or put dish soap in it. You can also basically 'seal' the sink with wax...that would also limit the 'patina-ing' of your sink. Good luck and if you have any questions, let me know. And for louisianaPurchase--the antiqued countertop is very easy to keep clean. Fingerprints don't show up anywhere near as much as I thought. In fact, hardly at all unless someone has very greasy fingers. It is just a quick wipedown...the antiqued quality has probably made all the difference with that....See More98.627% Finished Kitchen - Transitional White Inset w/ glass tile
Comments (136)Thank you all again for the compliments, it's been a long time and I wanted to reply to a couple of questions. go_figure, the dimensions of the oven/pantry cabinetry is 16 feet. The range cabinetry is 10 feet. The island is slightly over 7' long by 3' wide. Regarding the red espresso machine, we LOVED that machine and tried to make sure we matched some red items with it. Sadly it died about 18 months ago. We replaced it with a bland silver espresso machine which actually produces much better coffee. We still can't get ourselves to throw away the broken red machine so it sits in our basement knowing it will never get fixed... Thanks again all, and best wishes on all of your remodels!...See More99% finished. Off White kitchen. So HAPPY!!
Comments (150)Today, I had the privilege of seeing mamadadapaige's kitchen and I have to say the pics just do not do it justice. It is even more amazing in real life! The quality of the Crown Point cabinets is evident, by the subtle finishing details that only a true craftsman provides. The Ocean Green granite looks like a mixure of soapstone and green marble. It's smooth honed finish tops off the lovely veining and deep, but not dark green color. Her butcher block countertop provides the warming contrast and balance to the granite. The large window over that sink that provides a wonderful view of the water and boats in the inlet. The rangecraft hood, the tile backsplash, her choice of hardware and all the other details that make this kitchen one of GW's favorites are just so well put together. mamadadapaige truly has a magazine worthy kitchen and she is as friendly and helpful in person as she is online! Thank you mama, you really helped me today!...See MoreWhite/white/white kitchen refresh FINISHED
Comments (85)Hi island. Our banquette was built (several years ago) by the same guy who did our cabinets. There is no back on it ... just loose pillows, which we sort of toss around depending on how many people are actually sitting on it. It does have storage. There are sliding doors on the long front of it (this is not easy storage to access but it's for the cookbooks I pull out once a year, etc.) and a "morgue" drawer that comes out from the end (where we keep all the dog leashes, collars, etc. Super handy storage!). I will take some measurements tonight or tomorrow for you, but I recall that the seat is about 19" tall after the cushion is on. I made the cushion extra thick, 4 inches, and raised it up a little because I prefer to sit a little higher at a table. The chairs came with the house and I sort of painted them on a whim. I used Annie Sloan's chalk paint, which was OK, although I'm not sure it was any better than any other kind of paint, other than not having to prime them first. They do seem to be wearing well though. Hope that helps for now. More to follow....See Moresusie123
