LED White For Christmas Decorating?

This weekend I need to get the outdoor lights up.I will need to go and buy some new light sets and am getting nervous thinking about what choices are out there. I have seen some homes decorated with what I call the LED "operating room lights" as opposed to the soft whites one used to be able to buy before the LED onslaught.I dislike the colors of the new LED lights period.So if you have soft white LED's let me know what brand to look for.

I am interested in responses, too. I really dislike the LED lights. However, I put white lights on my fence each year (yards of them!) and I notice an increase in my electricity bill. I think the LEDs would not suck up so much electricity. I just wish they didn't look so blue and so "untwinkly". Are there any nice ones out there?

They do make what they call "warm white" LED lights.
I almost picked some up at walmart .
You can find them on display there or Home Depot.
I also hate the blue ones.

Jane, so glad you are giving your foot time to heal before your next surgery. It would be awful to not have at least one good one. I had foot surgery on my right foot 12 years ago and couldn't drive for 2 months. It was a year before I could do a full run and feel comfortable. I couldn't even ride a bike for a few months.LOL DD's BDay is Jan. 14th so that's what gets me out shopping after Christmas. It's always so cold but she's so special I have to! DGD's BDay is coming soon and she wants her party here again. May get to use some of my neat dishes again.Yeah DS came down today but didn't get to see DGD. We did alot of cleaning and yard work so that worked out good. Didnd't make it to the cemetary till late this afternoon because we were so busy. We will have all the family home over the 4th so have alot to do around here to get ready. I always tease my family they come and visit to keep me on top of things. Jeanne, the small star candle holders are from Dollar Plus. The lg center one is crystal and I picked up the other two at ys. Your the reason I always light my tables. Thanks for the comments on the flowers. They look better in RL but I didn't want to go take any more pictures. I need you here to help in that dept.haha I have a bush in one of my gardens that reminds me of your honeysuckle but it's blooms are pink. Golly by gosh, sure wish I could help but without being there, it's anybody's guess. Unfortunately, stuff like this is usually built in China to maybe last a year or two, and that's it.

NHB: it is fine dining and the most special part is the farm to table aspect. Almost all of his suppliers are a few minutes away. Meats, poultry and vegetables, cheese etc all come from right in the area. He is thrilled , to say the least. You can check their blog on the website and see his latest menus and the wine dinner menu. He actually went to the farm that supplies the ducks and geese and he and the owner did the slaughtering right before Thanksgiving. He was able to get tons of fat from the ducks and is in " confit heaven" LOL. Bonnie, caminnc and sandy.....oh my what gorgeous pics. So serene. Beautiful . tina: we travelled up there to see them several times in the year they were there but not in the dead of winter. We loved the area. I am really looking forward to seeing the beautiful scenery of his new location. c

My cheap battery-operated "warm white" door wreath strand is on its second year, and the lights have taken on a sickly yellow-green cast. Much prefer the cool white if the warm white is going to morph like these did.

I know exactly what you mean! I refuse to put blue-looking white lights anywhere around (or in!) my house. No. way.

I'm happy to report that I bought some strands of LED's from Costco a week or so ago and they blend in just fine with my "old" white lights. They are advertised as warm and on display in the store they looked good. I believe they were just under $18 for a strand of 100 lights. I would post a link but I don't see them on their website.

Ohmigosh - that must be what the blue lights are done the street from us. Quite a ways down from us but you can see the glow from just out from our driveway. Much to bright/neon looking.

We've never used LED lights, but I don't know what brand our lights are. We have so many I'm sure they are a mixture of brands.

A crafty friend of mine said that she uses nail polish to "paint" clear Christmas lights when she wants a custom color for her crafts. I realize that might be too much work if you have lots of lights, but thought I'd mention it.

i bought lots of strands of the LED warm white lights at HD a couple of weeks ago---the warm ones were GE(which i got) and martha stewart i believe.

Thanks to all, for one...agreeing with me that the the LEDs can be harsh and cold looking and that there are warm LED whites ..I will check them out this weekend at Home Depot and Lowes
