Advice on how high to hang mirror?
Comments (2)Can you mock it up? I drew lines all over my old bathroom before it was demoed to check the height that was good for me. And while we didn't have the restrictions a shelf would entail, we did mock it up again when we were doing our final decisions on our mirrors in the new space. We made cardboard mirrors and covered them with aluminum foil in the size we thought we wanted and DH and I took turns holding them up over the sinks and vanity to make sure they would look good and work....See MoreAnother mirror question! Comments (12)Thanks. He has a pair of 50-lb hooks, but I think he's a little scared of picture hanging wire after an antique mirror we had hanging at the other house fell onto a pedestal sink when the wire it was hanging from snapped. But you think it would be ok on this piece? I too think the metal (and/or "bling") might bend or break fairly easily, so we'll have to be very careful with it....See MoreHow do I design big, FULL hanging baskets full of wave petunias?
Comments (0)Ladies & gents, I absolutely love the look of the big, huge, full hanging baskets with wave petunias. Something like the below photo. But, how is it done? I was on another site and they said it can be done by planting petunias on the sides of a lined hanging basket. I've heard mixed opinions on this as far as how effective it is, and have never planted wave petunias before, so if you could offer me any advice or tips I'd really appreciate it. Here's another question: how much do you think one of these baskets would weigh? I have hangers in my soffits for this purpose exactly, and they're rated for 15 lbs. (I'm OK with pushing this limit just a little bit... the hangers look pretty sturdy). If I got a couple of 12" baskets, I think that would be an OK size without overwhelming my hangers, even when it's just been watered, but would love to hear your opinions on all of the above. Last year, I got some $5 hanging baskets of petunias from Lowe's, but they weren't wave petunias, and they kept having to be trimmed because they'd stop blooming and get leggy. They were a bit underwhelming as well, but I suppose you can't beat the price. Have you all had good luck with wave petunias? Thanks again!...See MoreHow to hang plants around the edge of my big pots
Comments (4)I’m not sure I understand your vision. Other than planting trailing plants in the interior edge of your containers, can’t offer suggestions. But the choice of trailing plants is plentiful and wouldn’t necessarily choke out your large perennials. For ex. Potato vines...See MoreUser
