Here's ours - still a work in progress as I need to hang the mirror. The buffet is out in the formal living/dining room so I went for a lot of silver and glass. If it was anywhere else in our house, I would probably use a pretty runner with a large, shallow bowl in the center or a vignette of like colored vases in different shapes. I used a mirrored charger underneath some pretty glasses that I pop little votives in for some flicker in the evenings. And here are floating shelves that we have in place of a buffet in our breakfast area that are the perfect catchall for my knick knacks and picture frames. You may want to purchase another hurricane to flank a decorative bowl filled with seasonal items (apples/oranges/lemons for summer, pinecones for winter) or line little votives in between.

I'm a little late, but wanted to share my Thanksgiving table. I wanted lower centerpieces that didn't obstruct the conversations too much. All guest/host were able to see through and converse with each other easily. I sprayed rectangular terracotta pots to look like bronze. They turned out more of a copper color. The arrangement is made up of all fresh fruits, greenery from my yard, and store bought tulips. The chargers are bronze, although the one below looks golden yellow in this photo because of the flash. The gourds and pine cones are real. Some cones are natural and some sprayed gold. The things around the lantern are artificial and came stuck to the $4 grapevine pumpkins.

I have a sewing/craft room set up, which I use almost every day. I can't find my camera cable right now, so I can't upload a photo, but I had a thought about your space. You really need a sewing machine space AND a table space because half of sewing is laying out the pattern, cutting, etc. I'm pretty sure I'm at my sewing table at least as much as I am at my machine itself. So, what might work really well for you is to get an old armoire from your local CL, and create something like the attached for the machine itself. Then you could position the table about a foot and a half out from the wall so that the person using it would stand between the wall and table, and could view tv. You could use the space under the table for wheeled carts which could hold storage supplies. Honestly the best storage I have in my craft room is the 8 foot long pegboard I put up. Everything hangs there: scissors, rotary cutters, rotary rulers, tape measures, etc. I can clean up in under two minutes, which helps me keep the area neat. The third element that is critical to the space is an ironing board. You could easily accomodate that by putting a fold-down board on the wall. They even have attractive cabinets for them now. Thanks amck2 :) There are actually 2 beagles in those pictures. See the blanket lump on the porch swing in the first picture. That's puppy #2, totally buried under covers! The pup you can actually see, Bailey, loves that little shirt I have on him. He actually got it when he had to have surgery on a benign lump on his belly to stop him from scratching the scar open (t is called a Medical Pet Shirt) and he adores it, so I put it on him whenever it is chilly (he's a very thin furred dog who shivers when the temp drops below 70). We call him Bugsy as a nickname b/c he is a little bugger (bad little dog) so we always say he's Buggy in a Snuggy.
