CL Post - I thought I had seen everything

4 Gynecology Exam tables - $1500. I admit, I had to look at the posting to see if they were "genitally used".

Seedling grapes are not guaranteed to be self pollinating. They are really not guaranteed to have any specific predictable character. If this one produces any quality fruit at all, someone got very lucky. Furthermore some varieties of quite a number of species are only partially self pollinating, with a much better fruit set if another pollinator is available. If you continue to get only partial clusters that may be the case. It is probably too early to tell. You may need a few more years of growth to know for sure. To get quality fruit at all out of a seedling is pretty lucky. This plant may well be worth saving; most seedlings aren't, since most parentages are complex hybirds, that resort unpredictably. But it may also need a pollinator and will almost certainly need proper pruning to produce the best flowering. It takes years of evaluations before most fruit varieties of any kind normally even get named and most of those don't even get released. It sounds like you are starting to get good fruit now and that normally improves as the vines mature. I would say that all your first signs are very encouraging.

Kay. I didn't do nothing in the beds today.I could barely stand up,and move just a little, so I stayed in the recliner almost the entire day.Everytime I moved a little,I was hurting everywhere, but, then about 5 this evening,I decided to go out and just look at the daylilies to see if just possibleI would see a scape making up, but, nope, no such thing, yet, but, I pulled my litthe garden scooter out on the sidewalk and sat on it and pulled weeds out of some of the pots,and jerked dead, brown leaves off them, to make them look better.I should have thought and brought my osmocote out and put a little in each pot, but, never thought about it, till just about 15 minutes ago.only thing I seen new was about a dozen lily bulbs had sprouted and popped up.I even found one where I know I didn't plant one there.My entire body just seemed to be in spasms today, but, mostly in my back.Tomorrow is suppose to be bad storms with a possibility of tornado's.I sure hope no tornados. jean

Also look at Horton Brasses for dresser pulls. One great thing about that site is that you can search by what's called "boring size", that's the distance from the center of one hole to the center of the other for a two-screw or two-post pull. Their prices are very reasonable for the incredible quality. Your pulls look like classic rosette bail pulls and should not be too horribly difficult to either match or replace if you go to the right places. It looks like the pulls are the same on the desk - if you're really stuck you might remove all the bail pulls from the desk, use those to replace the missing pulls on the dresser, and replace the pulls on the desk with the closest ones you can find so that each piece is consistent (especially in finish/patina). Or vice versa. :-) Ball & Ball may also have what you need. I'm very jealous of the barrister bookcase. I do think you should replace the missing glass though, even if it doesn't match the old glass - the gaping hole would look pretty tacky.

Yep...I collect many of the above mentioned items. I have over 100 pieces of cast iron. They do look good hung like that...had some hanging in my last house. I like any vintage kitchen things. Anything for the garden...collect clay pots, plant stands, pots with attached saucers, cool or old pots of any kind. Collect items with waterlilies on them...mainly plates, also have buttons and jewelry. Mixing bowls. Pyrex. Jadite. Anything from the early 1900's through the 1950's, and some '60's. Older too, if I can find it. Cookie cutters and old kitchen utensils. I like the ones with colored plastic handles. I also like the little kitchen items made out of hard plastic that have advertizing on them. Turkey platters and little turkeys, jack o' lanterns and miniature ones, old Christmas ornaments, raccoon Christmas ornaments, old photos of animals, especially raccoons, and the old pony pics made by the photographers who used to go around house to house with the ponies and take children's pictures. I like anything tiny and old...little vases, figurines. Old dishes made in Czechoslavkia (I know that is misspelled...don't want to go in there and open the cupboard which is like Fibber McGee's closet, if any of you are old enough to remember that radio program from the 1950's.) Old marbles, old and/or broken jewelry, dice, photo charms, old blankets, tableclothes, napkins, incense burners, old horse figurines from the 1950's...especially palominos. :) Some of my collections I have narrowed down to very specific items...like the above palomino horses. I also collect goldfish items, but only if they are old. Cast iron garden lanterns that are owls...I have about 10 different ones. Also owls in general, if they are different than the ones you see in so many collections. My criteria is old or really interesting looking. I have a great horned owl tv light, for example. Anything that is rustic...old carved wooden bears. Wooden dogs or animals with glass eyes...if they are old. Besides dogs, I have owls and birds. Lots more stuff...I just love junk.

i would guess there's a pretty small market for those---good luck selling them on CL!!!

Hey, think about it...those tables are nice and padded, somewhat comfortable....AND, bonus....they probably come with foot rests!

I'm surprised at your reactions to this as exam tables and general business furnishings are commonly sold on CL. Currently in the Portland OR and Seattle areas, CL here has close to 10 postings for exam tables (and some include the gyn app)....not that I'm in the market. :) I have looked recently for office furnishings though and knew that if business office furniture was common, medical must be as well, so I checked just now.

As for the Ewww factor, doctors always use disposable covers on them, disinfect regularly, and frankly, when we're examined, they don't buy a new table for each of us, so just keep that in mind. :) I think when you consider it that way, it's really not a strange thing to realize that one office might sell used items. Am I being naive here?

I think I can beat that...I once saw a listing for a
s e x swing...I think I was too chicken to click on the picture....Can't recall if it was new or used. Yikes!!
