I can't really say how old it is...you actually need to look under and inside to get there from here but I will take a guess and say I think it's not terribly old. It appears to be an indonisian copy of an old chair when you take the simple carving and wood style into consideration. That being said, right or wrong, thirty bucks for a working chair you like is a great deal.

Thanks! I thought it was old is because my ex-husband had a chair exactly like it(better condition and original upholstery)that was his great grandmothers. I always loved the chair, and when I found this one I just had to have it. I have taken the covering off and it was stuffed with old cotton and some straw looking stuff...hope to get it recovered and use in my foyer.

I think it will be great recovered, the lines are nice.and you cant do much better than $30
