Thanks, TTodd. I see a few of those HGTV decorating mistakes in here that I am tickled to death to see, as it verifies my original opinion --- they are very often wrong, and beauty is in the eye of the beholder and I behold these to be beautiful rooms!!!!

Ttodd we are so on the same page. I love every one of those pictures. I don't know if it is the mix of the formal and casual or the luscious fabrics, but I will definately spend the next few days pouring over your pics to try and see what I can incorporate into our rooms.

I have just been lamenting the removal of some of my favorite online inspiration sites. AOL used to have a great library of shots of inspiration rooms as did Elle decor, but when I go to their sites now I can't seem to find them. Boo Hoo. So your pics are very timely.

Great posts! I like to go to some of the design blogs for inspiration, but many are contemporary and I'm more traditional. Try Cote de Texas (french style in TX), Mrs. Blandings & Style Court to name a few.

I cannot believe, although I know TTodd directed these to Budge, that there are no more oooh's and ahhh's over these. I think these are simply stunning and I now guess that I am relegated to the 25 mistakes, because I love these inspiration sites, very single one and just why everyone else does not love them as much as I do, so I am bumping this back up in case this was eaten by Pepperidge Farm before.

I think these are wonderful. I am, indeed, oohing and aahing. I think I like them so much because they are photos of places I feel real people could actually live in. There are lots of things to make me smile and it feels "at home". Flowers and plants are a recurring theme and many of the rooms feel organic and earth connected.

Here's a practical question...do you just hole-punch and put the pages in a notebook? Do they hold up well enough? Mine are all in a big box right now. I am impressed with your organization!

Glad you have enjoyed them - I had a good time rediscovering them all over again as I flipped through so quickly. I'm going to see if DH or my MIL can take the kids away for a few hrs. so that I can enjoy them over a cup of tea in peace & quiet & plan some more.

I think that I really noticed some recurring theme's in what I like - especially color wise w/ all of the green, purple, pink combo's. In fact the page that says Floral Essences w/ a pic of the lady in the green dress is about to help me round out my color palette for downstairs!

Her green dress is similar to my LR wall color.
Her basket: close to the shade of brown that I've chosen for the top 1/3 of my kitchen walls.

I was trying to pick a red for my DR but the consensus on the forum is that the deep reds I liked were too dark for my dark trim BUT when I saw that pic I thought "Why not a color similar to the flowers in her basket?"! The whole pic flows so I know it would look good in my house as I already have so many colors in the layout. Color inspiration can be found where you least expect it! And it looks romantic but still earthy.

As for my organization: That's a long way coming but thanks! I just used a 3 hole punch one weekend & just shoved my tear outs into 2 binders that I found laying around. I slipped a piece of blank white paper between each article to separate them. I still have tons to add.

Soon I will begin looking for some decadent binders to organize them in. A few for decorating, gardening & entertaining. Right now they're all mixed together w/ no rhyme or reason.

I need to add the little white thingies to the holes to reinforce them & I've learned that if I break the binding of the magazine I can easily pull out an entire article out w/o having to use scissors to score the pages & risk an uneven tear.

OOhing and ahhing here too! they look so comfy and effortless as if they just happened. I know thats not the case, cause nothin like that is happening in my house! LOL
and it is like having someone organize the pages I have in a bottom drawer all willy nilly- and post them for me to look at!
