Oh brother..... They must have spent a lot of time in IT-ly because here is another set from a High End Furniture store in Itly. And, I'm sorry to tell you, the coffee table is NOT for sale. OK.. this is where my head is now.. It's a beautiful chair but leaning away from getting it because: - it's more leather and brown to my already heavy on wood/leather room. The house is small so I am finding too much leather and wood to be a little "heavy" and imposing. - The color is similar but much more golden than the sofa leather which I carefully chose the color of. It's not the same grade or quality either. - it has a bit of a "man's club" feel to me.. and for the foreseeable future, this is a chick house. - while I love tufting, it just sucks in dog hair (which I have far too much of - I think I really have my heart set on a light, interesting fabric chair. Am I making a big mistake if I walk away? I am in the midst of a very bad work day so I don't know that I am being clear headed about this. one more note: due to work issues, it is very unlikely that I am going to be able to leave and drive the hour to the location before 5pm tonight (she can show it tomorrow morning)

I went to see the footstool, but it was a total bait and switch!! I called up the seller in the afternoon, she wouldn't make a deal saying how it was in excellent condition and worth over $100 in an antique store. When I go there she shows me three different footstools none of them anything like the above. When I asked where that one was--with the pink background and the queen anne style legs, she said she didn't know what pic was posted in the ad as her son posted it. She tried to sell me her "Chinese style, solid mahogany" footstools, but the workmanship was very amateurish and the embroidery looked like it was pinned on. I'm really PO'ed about it--a big waste of time--but since I was in her house, I just said I'd pass and left. On the positive side, at least it was not eBay "not as advertized" to deal with. Bet they would look just perfect with those eBay Bergere chairs.

brutuses - my3dogs came to mind for me, also! lol At first my husband was interested in putting the chairs in our study, until he saw the style. He is like my3dogs sister and didn't like the tufted look. I sent the seller an email last night and asked if the chairs are real leather (or vinyl) and how old they are. Have not heard back. There was a phone number, but it was too late to call. I am sure I was not the first person to try and contact the seller. If I do hear from her, I am going to use some advice i have found on this board, and offer less. It would be great to get each chair for $25.
