Anyone have advice about 2 inch white wood blinds?
Comments (19)I would avoid selectblinds.com- They are a sponsor on Extreme Makeover Home Edition. We ordered a bunch of 2" Faux Wood blinds from them last fall. Good quality, great price, awful customer service. We ordered the blinds with "inside-mount" measurements but wanted "outside-mount" valances with returns on the sides-this information was given in detail on the order. The order was shipped with inside mount valances (of course). They then sent replacement valances that had returns that were too long-I ended up cutting them back myself rather than go to round three with them. The largest blind we ordered had to be remade 3 times due to shipping damage-that packing materials were insufficient. When an undamaged blind arrived, it arrived at the wrong address, one we were using as a billing-only address when we were between homes. I had to drive 45 minutes each way to Mom's to pick up that last blind....See MoreBlinds 2" vs. 2-1/2 " and wood vs. faux wood
Comments (2)35% seems like a lot. The main difference is the 2 1/2 inch will have more space between each slat therefore giving you a less obstructed view. Real wood is lighter and has less of those strings (Ladders) that go through each slat. It generally has more colors options but will cost much more. The faux woods are heavier and have more ladders since they are heavier. I think they hold up better to moisture without warping and cost considerably less....See MoreHELP! Comments (26)Johnmari, Thank you for sharing about the many variations on white. Now I'm a little worried. We really don't have $ to go for custom treatments. If I go with the white, maybe I should order, try one, and then understand I may have to return? Yes. Absolutely. That was JM's point and what I assumed (and shouldn't have) you already knew. You need to have a plan to check the color before you commit. Or, as Annz said, there are many other resources out there at about the same price point as JCP where you can obtain samples before you buy. My Lowe's for instance has a nice supply of take home color samples for blinds and plantation shutters. You mention a mix of mission and contemporary - again, either would work. Someone made the point the wood tones do not reflect as much light into the space -- that is accurate. If you have abundant natural light, might not be such a concern. But if you're having trouble deciding between the two, that factor is something to consider. Exterior - Again, either can work. It's a matter of your deciding which choice, white or wood, is going to fit best with the design and look you're marching towards interior as well as exterior. Maybe make a spreadsheet and list the pros and cons of each color choice to help you see which one 'fits' best at least on paper....See MoreWhite or wood tone 2'Cordless Wood Blinds
Comments (5)Take a look at the website below and pretend you're looking at blinds and not shutters. I came this close to getting the darker shutters because they are just beautiful, and no many people do that. When you get to this page, click on "Gallery." You can see how the darker wood blinds look fantastic with white trim. Here is a link that might be useful: Shutters...See Morechispa
