Best source for online blinds?

Hi everyone,

We are building a new home and I have an ENTIRE home to put window coverings on. Any suggestions for quality discount blinds etc. on line? Thanks so much!

We just had the same experience (seller even took the curtain rods, arghhhh) and got petite cell honeycomb blinds and durawood blinds from Smith & Noble.

They have great instructions for measuring, the site is good for customizing and we did get some swatches. HOWEVER, while I thought the quality was excellent, prices good, site usable, I found their customer service less than stellar. Be prepared to argue if you order online with some sort of a discount, and double check your statements to be certain you get the right price.

In the end it all worked out for us but their poor customer service soured an overall satisfying experience for us.

Planting instructions I got from a few reputable nurseries that I ordered the trees from say to soak it, up to 4-5 hours but not over 24 hours. I don't know where I keep those booklets now. I believe in hydrating the roots so I soaked mine in buckets of water while I was digging the holes. So they got soaked any where from 15-20 mins to 2-3 hours depending on when I could get them in the ground. Some people say they never soak bare root trees. I think as long as the roots are not allowed to dry out and that you water a tree well at planting time, you'll be fine. I definitely clear weed/grass of the planting holes for at least 3 ft in diameter and mulch after planting.

Sorry, I'm not here with an online source, but just a little caveat. I had a white beveled subway tile backsplash installed (from Classic Tile in Brooklyn, NY -- love it and them), but was disappointed to find that the particular line of tile I chose (US Ceramics) does not offer a 3x3 beveled tile to finish off the ends of the runs. My installer had to cut the 3x6 tiles but then we wound up with one cut, and not beveled, edge. If I were to do it over again, I'd be sure to choose a brand that offered the matching 3x3 beveled piece. Just my two cents.

bumping this for more ideas. i'd like to get a faux wood blind for my kitchen, so for one little blind, online seems like the way to go. any input on brands (hunter douglas, levolor, bali, etc) would be most welcome!

When we build our last house, we got blinds from American Blinds & Wallpaper. They were fairly inexpensive and nice. I believe they were PVC. When we moved into this house, we got faux wood blinds from Home Depot. They were having a 20% off sale. Also reasonable prices but not quite as cheap as AB&W.
