It's a pretty good match considering your restrictions. Both have a small flair at the base and straight thin handles. The shower handle is less substantial than the Weymouth, which I did like. But I have the thin straight handle on my kitchen faucet and like it. When I remodeled my guest bath, I bought the quality I wanted first and tried to find some common design elements between everything.

Are you planning on painting the wood? (I would) Are you doing the re-up or an upholsterer? If doing yourself, you can find great fabrics on ebay for low cost (umm,that's why I have a couch covered in Quadrille's Le$$$ Indienne) but an upholsterer who charges a high cut fee, might make it not much of a deal. I would look for a performance fabric or treated denim for the sofa. Maybe a ticking stripe with some heavy textured throw pillows. And I'd splurge on a fabulous print for the chair. What a great legacy set,will make your room special and especially beautiful!

Ok everyone, thanks for your suggestions! I'm not so much concerned with picking wall color at this point as how to work with this French Provincial furniture from the 50's. These are tricky clients because getting inspiration photos or design opinions from them is like pulling teeth! I'll need to present photos to extract reactions. The only preferences they could express for the master was "contemporary with color" and the only dislike was the ethnic bohemian look. They're open to removing wall to wall carpet to expose hardwood flooring, new bedding, lamps, wall decor....everything EXCEPT replacing the furniture. It will have to be a balance between old and new. I've done a lot of work for them before and they've hired me again because they say they always like what I present to them so I'll post the results once done. Thanks again everyone!

White Shaker cabinets are timeless and beautiful, as are white subway tile with black black grout. What is NOT timeless and beautiful are trendy expensive items like farmhouse apron sinks, black faucets, glass tile etc...anything that makes it clear the exact year the renovation was done. If you want trendy, stick to items easily replaced, like drawer pulls and knobs, pictures, even paint. Plain slab cabinet doors with hidden pulls look like a dentist's office...it's a kitchen, not a surgical suite. FYI: All those kitchens are way too busy, way too much going on, especially in the backsplashes, and the idea of a white kitchen floor is laughable. And please stop making a big deal out of the range hood which for some reason has become the focus of the room!
