What Paint color would you use with Biscotti Cabinets (PICS)

We are moving in a home this coming week and I CANNOT figure out a paint color for our kitchen which leads into a large family room. We have Kraftmaid cabinets and I believe the color is Biscotti with a cocoa glaze, they may be Vintage biscotti. In any case the are very Yellow looking. The granite is very black, peachy and brown (hard to tell from Pictures)

I cannot pick a paint color to calm everything down. I lean towards neutrals and earth tones, I'm not a big fan of bold color. Any help??? FYI, I plan to use Benjamin moore paint.

What color are the walls in your family room? I feel you should use something that would flow easily with the colors in that room if it's visible from your kitchen.

What you REALLY need instead of or in addition to paint is a BACKSPLASH!!! I would do a a natural tumbled travertine or a stone & glass combo 1" mosaic tile.

A couple questions...do you have under cabinet lighting??? If not, I highly recommend it.

Why is the wood valance over the sink white & not the color of the cabinets??? (At least it looks that way in the photo)

I would ditch the fabric valance & do a bamboo roman shade there instead.

Now as to wall color...I am so sorry, but I think my BM color fan is in my car which my hubby borrowed today, so I hope you forgive that I suggest SW colors. It looks to me like Sand Dune, Familiar Beige, or Practical Beige would be good. Then I would use the lightest tint for your ceiling. BUT, if you DO decide to use a backsplash, I would reserve your paint color choice until you choose the backsplash.

Our cabinets are a true crisp white with a tiny hint of warmth. They are Benjamin Moore Chantilly Lace. I love them because they look so classic, and they don't have any hint of yellow to them despite what type of light we are getting. Our kitchen is north-facing with plenty of light and the colour just "works". Good luck on finding your perfect white or off-white!

Thank you, dilly. I like the polka dot, but I agree, it really doesn't work. Here is #3: Here is #4: How about #3 for the outside part of the crown, the solid pink sheet for the inside and for the topper, #4? Then #3 for curtain panels? Maybe a mix of #3 for the bed skirt and with #4 as a trim on it? And a very soft apple green on the walls? I think I need to order some samples to check the colors together.

So I went with the vale mist and I love the result. It was a good compromise with the husband who wanted to stay with white. A shout out to @JudyGDesigns for suggesting the color. Thank you all for the help. And just like that, two other people nearby have gone with similar colors. So I guess copying is a form of flattery. I want to also let you know that I took my door hardware to a metal restorer and they did an amazing job! So please if you have old door hardware and they are worn, have them restored. Mine look awesome and I felt good about helping out a small local family business. I included a photo of just the brash door knocker which was old, black and tarnished. My door knobs and handles look great as well. Like new. I also updated the house numbers to be raised and modern.

I think it would look super with BM Whythe blue, it would compliment the cabinets and add a personality. I'd remove the valence and get the bamboo shade.

I can't seem to find a current picture of my kitchen but we have Merillat biscotti colored cabinets and I used SW Portebello in my kitchen/great room. I'll post one when I get home tonight.

In the meantime here is my kitchen with Laura Ashley Taupe 4. It was a good color but I wanted something a little darker without the pink/red undertones.

I don't have a lot of wall space that isn't cabinets so it's hard to see the paint. I also think a backsplash would help in the room.

I agree with interiorstylist - if you're doing bs, pick that first, and yes, tie in with f.r. A safe choice would be a shade lighter or darker than your cabs, then use accessories for accent color.

No suggestion for paint, just want to say "What nice cabinets and granite!"

:)

Maybe get a photo with your furniture in the next room.

I can understand wanting to paint before you move in, but that makes it harder to pick a color doesn't it?

Congratulations on the new house! I like the cabinets and granite, too! Definitely choose the backsplash before the paint.

The only idea I have is to mount the bamboo shade (or whatever you choose) near the ceiling between the pieces of crown that are above the cabinets-just think that would look good and you could pull them up to the very top of the window-no loss of light.

Nice cabinets, but the white wood piece over the window and the white pendant lights make the cabinets just look dirty - they don't compliment them at all. Take down the white wood and replace the pendant shades. And I definitely agree with the others who said to take down the valanc, and valances are kind of out as well. It just doesn't go at all. I like the idea of a bamboo shade mounted high, either do that or nothing there exepct for taking down the cornice. Also, why does the island have what looks like old cabinetry? You need to overlay it with something or paint it. For the walls, I would use a light soft tan or light soft neutral green paint, whichever would go w/ the family room too. I don't like blue with those cabinets at all - it will make them look yellow, and definitely not white which will make it even more yellow. I just got the Biscottti myself, BTW, and if you do these things, it will look gorgeous, but right now the other elements are really fighting with it.

HELP!HELP!HELP!
So happy I found this discussion..I just moved into a new home that also has Merillat Biscotti cabinets....and I am totally stressing over paint color??? I DO NOT want them to look to yellow, which on my current gray walls they do!!! What color paint and style hardware should I go with? I currently do not have a back-splash but plan on installing one as soon as i figure out the colors i should do! The granite has black, peach, brown, gray, and some light tones. The Floors are really dark brown with shades of black. My floor plan is very open so I would need to carry this paint color through the entire living/family/great-room area....
Any advise would be great!
