Anyone go from a traditional gas furnace to a heatpump?

I'm asking here and not the heating forum because I have been on here over the last deverl years on and off and I want it from more of a homemaker standpoint not a HVAC guy standpoint. Our AC went out and we think we may replace it with a heatpump. Our Gas furnace is 8 yo, our AC was as well. It was on a new construction home. Will it be as warm? Will the noise drive me nuts? (We did upgrade to a better model in the quotes that is quiet) Will I miss the heat of natural gas? Do they cool the same as AC? Were the savings noticable?

Etc. etc.

Any feedback?
