My step daughters mother wont stop taking everything I do and doing it herself. Ever since my children were babies I have been going out to Childrens place buying jammies every Christmas and getting family pictures in them. Now biomom is doing the same thing, same store, same jammies. She even knows I do this, it's no accident, trust me..

I take it as a form of harassment, LOL! ( I know, sounds silly but really ) - I do have harassment orders on her.

Well, I don't have the PB recliner but the chair and sofa, which were originally cognac color. They are now several years old and have discolored into a fairly greenish/yellowish color. As a matter of fact, last night, I went at them with dark brown shoe polish. So far, so good. Haven't tried sitting on them in a white dress yet. I saw and sat in a very comfy leather recliner at COSTCO, which looked like a similar style as the PB Manhattan. However, I can't find it on their web site. Still, their quality is usually very good, and if you don't like it, you can always return it. Maybe the Cleburn or whatever you find in their warehouse. copy-cat honey baked ham anyone?

I saw a show on FoodTV last holiday season on Honey Baked Ham & it is a sugar/spices dry rub melted to create a glaze with blow torches. Each ham is individually torched. Unfortunately, I didn't pay attention to what they were putting in the rub mix. :( I'm not even sure there's actually honey in the glaze?! Search the FoodTV website...you might be able to find an article with "clues". I'm pretty sure I saw the episode on "Unwrapped". /tricia

You could look at the regular worcestershire copy cat recipes and make a few changes. In this one i could see cutting out the molasses and soy...use honey instead...and add a 1/2 cup white wine to lightly sauteed onion and garlic for a few min, then add the rest of the list. A mandarine orange quartered might work for the tamarind. I'd add some herbs like summer savory, rosemary, thyme... and a few bay leaves. Whenever i make this type of marinade, just maybe twice a year, (and did not think of it as whiteW, since i've not tasted it), i just bring to simmer, marinate 24-36 hrs, bring back to simmer again, let cool a bit, then strain. I use it within a week or freeze in small 1/4 pints. A quick wiz in a blender or cuisinart would extract a bit more essence of flavor before straining. The extra 1/2 cup of sugar would be too sweet for us. I also add a few sun-dried tomatoes, sliced, and more garlic. Here is a link that might be useful: worcesterchire copy

I have some experience with that door and I can tell you that one, it's not a typical door at all. It's a two piece affair that has a routed frame with an inset panel from the back. I've never seen anything like it in other lines. Two, it's a chamfered style frame in which the chamfer is quite long and thin. This is what makes the light play off of it to give it that unique look. This also makes copying it next to impossible without a CNC machine. rail and stile profiles http://www.infinitytools.com/1pc-Rail-Stile-Cabinet-Door-Shaper-Cutters/products/1243/ These cutters can't really be made with a deep enough chamfer to copy that siematic look, and even if they could, the lip would be so thin that there would be major breakage on each panel. Three, an attempt to get something similar from a local shop (even if they can do it) will certainly cost more than your $15k budget. Four, the handle placement was deliberate , it keeps all of the handles in the center of the drawer regardless of height. You could order them undrilled from siematic and use your own hardware if you want though. The finish is darn near flawless and you'd have to spend millions on a finishing line to get similar results. It's some of the best I've seen in the industry. A guy, a spray booth and an air compressor won't yield the same results. Re: the inset fakery - I've seen many attempts and none have been worth a darn. Even if you use eam44's method you'd still have no stiles and it'd look silly. If you want inset, just order inset cabinets.

You can take it as a compliment or harassment, but it isn't about you. It's about her and how she feels about her life.

My DH's ex started having a problem with everything (always made it about their daughter) while we were planning our wedding. They had been apart for at least five years and she had her own boyfriend. She didn't have many complaints before we got engaged and perhaps she either hadn't moved on or wanted to be married and it bothered her that he was getting married while she's had trouble in her relationships. Now that she's found a new guy, she has taken the opposite extreme of becoming disinterested and doesn't complain like she did when she was single. She has also decided to take up a lot of the hobbies we do and her life almost mimics ours. We ignore it. I agree with lowel, she probably sees your life and is envious of it, or of some of the things you do that look fun.

If she is doing it to "harass" you, and you are getting restraining orders on her, then she's got you engaged in the battle that she may consider a game. If you disengage, it takes the "fun" out of it for her and she will eventually get tired of spinning her wheels and hopefully find something else to do with her time. It takes two to keep that stuff going.

I know how you are feeling - I have a biomom in my life who does the same things. Though it drives me insane I have learned to laugh about it. Ima is right - it really is more about how she feels about her life, and that she envies yours. It is also true the bigger a deal you make of it, the more she will continue because she can then take some of the pleasure out of your life . . . thus putting it more on par with how she sees hers. Don't give her the satisfaction. I made a few sugary comments along the lines of "I'm so glad to see you discovered how cute the Children's Place jammies are. Don't they make a cute picture. Every year we have done it I am so pleased - I'm sure you will be now, too" letting her know I knew what she was up to, but even that is playing into her hand.
