Hard to adjust

Just my little pity party...This year will be the first year since I have had DS (14) that he will not be waking up at my house on Christmas morning. It has been such a hard adjustment not having him with me but he is doing well now. He has quit hanging out with the kids that were leading him in bad directions. Ex is spending time with him--not a lot but more so DS is getting to know his dad as he wanted. DS seems happy again for the first time in a long time and I am so glad that he is adjusting even though some days are harder for me than others. In the end, all I want is for DS to be happy. But it is hard knowing that he will not be here for the first time on Christmas morning. I will get him later in the morning but it is still different and hard to get used to DS growing up. I am excited that we will have the afternoon together and he is staying through the weekend too. So I know that it will all work out and that I just have to get used to times changing.
