dead beat mothers

You hear all the time about the moms who are struggling to support their families on their own, but you hardly ever hear about the fathers. Let me tell you a little about my situation. I have full custody of my 4 children ranging in age from 7 to 15. The youngest 3 havenÂt heard from their mom now for 9 months. She lives right here in town, but never even calls them. The oldest one has seen her twice recently, where she met with him while he was on his way home from school. She made a bunch of promises to him about being able to live with her some day soon. The problem is that she can only have supervised visitations with the children and canÂt ever stay over night. My boys suffer still from post traumatic stress, depression, and opposition defiance. They went through hell before I was able to get full custody. They have been going to counseling now for 2 years. Some times things seem like they are getting better, but for the most part, we have line of site supervision in our home at all times. It feels like a jail at time rather than a home. I do have a wonderful support group for me where I can get away once in a while to breath. The weight of my childrenÂs mental health is huge, but what bothers me also is the fact that their mother has never paid her child support. She is only required to pay $25 per month per child, but after 5 years, we still have never seen a dime of it. Support enforcement refuses to do anything to help. According to support enforcement, a person on welfare or SSI can not be collected on. She is healthy, and there is no reason that she couldnÂt work some where. Here she receives money, food, a home and funding to go to school while she dodges her responsibility of paying child support. Yes, the money owed accumulates with interest, but the money is needed now to buy clothes, school supplies and food. I could spend a few thousand on attorney fees again in court, but the best we would get is just another judgement, and that doesnÂt put food on their plates.
