What are the paint colors? They go very well together and look great with the wrought iron. I love the color below the chair rail.

The paint I used is Behr. The top color is Navaho White. The bottom color is Quiet Veranda and the trim color is Ultra Plus White high gloss.

Trailrunner, the stair writing is called wordart. I bought mine online last year from Words Anywhere. I would equate it to probably doing a stencil. My inspiration for the stairs came from a blog I read last year. I have a little more of the wordart over the door leading to the kitchen. I didn't post that picture.

Now that my husband is deceased I just needed to lighten the house up and make it more "mine". More for a single woman than an old married one of 29 years.

I am sorry for your loss, but I am happy for your new beginnings, It looks wonderful. I like the wall colors and the way you incorporated more black metal, to go with the railing. Did you change the front door or not, I am not sure? Thanks so much for sharing.

The mirror hanging over the buffet! I have that exact same mirror, but ending up painting ours gloss white and it's in the DR now.

dana1079, great minds really do think alike-lol! I've had that mirror a lot of years. It's not new. I still love it as much as when I first bought it. I know the white looks good. Can you post a picture?

Cathyk, I believe I got the mirror from JCPenney. It was in the LR--I just recycled it to the DR.

Ours was above the FP in the living room, and was a hand me down from my bf's grandmother. It had the date 1976 on the back of it. After checking with her (so as not to destroy anything she loved or treasured) I painted it gloss white, which was the first thing she noticed when visiting recently and loved it!

You really did a nice job! Love the word art. And add me to the list of ladies who love the mirror. :)

I love the Behr Navajo White that looks similar to my BM Bone White and is just beautiful in your rooms with the Ultra Plus White in High Gloss. What finish is on the walls (Eggshell or Satin?)? Thank you for sharing. Beautiful home and wonderful colors used and changes made.

Here's a pic of my mirror painted gloss white! (Excuse the reflection of me in my bf big slouchy shirt.It was a long day at work and my favorite way to relax=boxers and his tees!!!)

We have absolutely nothing gold although it was pretty ,but now I've been talked into keeping the antique crystal chandeliers that are brass and kinda wish I'd have kept it gold...oh well !

Lynn-Actually I think both the Navajo and the Quiet are flat. The only gloss I have is on the trim. I am almost sure about this. I will look at the cans tomorrow if I can get to the shed, but there is no gloss like the satin in the bathrooms.

peachiepie, I am going to get a paint chip and sample of the Behr Navajo White tomorrow. Right now on top of my BM Linen White walls, I have painted in the Aura Paint Satin Finish BM Bone White in many different places in the two room home office and SW Antique White mixed in the BM Regal Aqua Pearl Finish. I was told that the new BM formula's Pearl is the same as Aura's Satin but I see the satin a tiny bit shinier and I prefer the Pearl Finish. I also did not see any better coverage (both needed two coats on my wall) of the Aura from the Regal Paint. It looks like the Behr Navajo White is creamy and very neutral. Thank you for letting me know.

dana, the white is certainly a different look from the gold. I think the brass chandeliers would have looked good with the gold, but as you said, at the time, you had no plan to have any other accessories to match it to. Can't you sand it and paint it again in a color that complements
the chandys?

lynn, my walls have alays been done in satin. I'm not sure why we changed to flat this time, if we did. It looks wonderful though and I will check to be sure that I am right about the finish. Only one coat of paint was needed to do the walls. Previously, everything was off-white. At night the Navajo has a yellow tint to it when the foyer light is on. I love the two colors together. Good luck with your choices.

yes I suppose I could paint ours back, however I'm honestly all painted out at this point. I've painted kitchen, LR, DR, Foyer, Upstairs Foyer, hung crown, tiled kitchen, installed and finished hardwood, painted all the trim.

If I have to look at another paint can for the next few weeks I'll scream!

It's on my to-do list though along with a million other things.

Dana, yes, that is shoe molding, I believe that's what it's called. I think my husband put it there many years ago when we discovered we had hardwood steps after the carpeting was removed.

Boopa, I love the wordart on the stairs and over the doorway that leads into the kitchen. I have one more small piece, Bon Appetit, to put on a wall in the kitchen when I finish my refresh there. Then, I think I will have satisfied my desire for the words. Everyone loves it though.

PeachiePie, if you could find out the finish on your wall, that would be great. I feel the Behr Navajo White looks so nice on your walls, that I want to try it on mine and see which I like better, the B. Navajo White or BM Bone White. The SW Antique White is a nice color but I like the Bone White better I am finding out. I also seem to like the Pearl finish better than the Satin finish.

peachiepie, thank you so much! I love your walls and I finally have a sample paint can here and the matching paint chip. If I end up not doing my home office in this beautiful color, I am going to repaint my Master Bathroom in it and maybe the downstairs powder room since I love the color.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I have Lynn. It has really done wonders for my house. Please post pictures when you finish.
