I have a friend whose son has gone AWOL from the Marines. This is putting a huge strain on her marriage because he has moved back home with her and her husband and their daughter.
Her husband, son's stepfather, thinks he should move out and FAST. They have a 9 year old daughter together. He even threatened to take their daughter and leave. It's gotten that bad.
The son is afraid to get a job cause he thinks they'll find him. She knows he needs to get a job and get on with his life, he's 20. But she's a mom and she doesn't want to see him hurting. I suggested a lawyer, but not sure who handles these kinds of cases. The son signed a contract with the Marines and has 2 years left...although, now he's AWOL...I guess he'd be put in jail or the brig or wherever?
Anyone have any experience or opinions?
Does anyone know how he can clear this mess up withouth ruining his life?
Thank so much!
