How do you word it ... so that each parent is responsible for 50% of afterschool and weekend activities. such as baseball, dance, any activities???? and does it have to state exactly what that activity will be?

BM gets the kids all excited about joining an activity then tells them to have daddy pay for it. .... how do we word the order so any activity they want to join both parents are held financially responsible?

Is it possible to hold both parents responsible for those expenses or is it included in CS payments?

Sorry to sound harsh Cawfe, but why even bother?...
It's not like that BioMom is going to pull her share just because some piece of paper says she has to.
And she'll still pull the same stunts about getting the kids excited then blaming it all on you.
And you'll still be too big a person to explain exactly what BioMom is doing.

I would say that Plaintiff and Defendant (or CP and NCP) are each responsible for 50% of extracurricular activities, including, but not limited to, all fees for sporting activities as well as equipment neccesary for participation in such events/activities.

I've not really been involved in this sort of thing, so I'm not really sure about weather it is included in CS payments or not. My guess is that it depends on the agreement or the judge's order. I'm sure if it is included in the Court order than it is in addition to CS.

Had typed an entire response before reading BorS.....that pretty much nails it :-) Plants named after real people should be pronounced the same as their name but we US'ers tend to mangle most names from foreign places. And there's the umpteen years of attempting to artificially latinize these names before any kind of uniformity of pronunciation was adopted. FWIW, it may be "correct" but I've yet to hear anyone asking for a 'hoy-ker-uh' at the nursery or using that pronunciation but I hear 'hoo-ker-ah' all the time. Also 'hoo-chair-a' (emphasis on 'chair'!!).

You can create as many signatures as you want with AutoText. Click on "Help" from within Word, and then go from there. You'll get step-by-step directions. But, basically, you first type what you want to use as your signature. Then you block it, click on "Insert," then on "AutoText," then on "New." You give it a name. (As I recall, the very first one you create can use the Word-provided "Signature" as its name. Subsequent signatures need different names.) Do this for each signature you want to create. Then, to use those signatures, you'd be in your document, then click on "Insert" then on "AutoText." You get a fly-out menu listing your different choices. There is a choice for "Signature," but your additional sigs may be listed under "Normal" which has its own fly-out menu. Some of the directions vary according to which version of Word you are using.

I used to cook at home most of the time with an occasional lunch out with a friend and breakfast out with some of the few family I get along with. Over the winter my out-eating has increased dramatically. I found a few mom & pop places with wonderful breakfasts and good prices. One of them is open for evening meals too and I occasionally go there. Plus I go to Old Country Buffet for breakfast occasionally and have started going for a dinner more often too. Get there before 3:30 pm and you get the lunch rates and that's $3 cheaper. And figuring that beverages and dessert are included it's a good value. Food varies. Certain days have more to my tastes. And it's clean and well maintained, unlike most buffets. I generally eat only one "meal" per day. Might have a snack or something at home, but seldom have more than one full meal in a day and I don't remember the last time I ate breakfast, lunch and supper! When I'm going to have a long day at work I like to get a good old fashioned breakfast and that lasts me the day with the exception of a possible snack later.

Talley Sue has totally nailed it, as usual. Don't mention money, anywhere. Thank your moms for raising you, for their love and support, maybe for helping you plan, but nothing more concrete than that. I agree that I would be embarrassed as a guest to be hearing about who paid for what. As you point out that neither mom knows about the other's contributing, you could really be setting up a problem, too. Regarding the invitation: invitations come from hosts. It sounds like you and your fiance are the hosts of this wedding, so the invitations come from you. That others are helping pay is irrelevant -- if your best friend were kicking in some money, would you put her/his name on the invitation? It is definitely NOT true that "tradition would dictate that whoever contributes the most, gets first mentions on the invitation." So you don't have to worry about that. You are just fine issuing the invitations from you and your fiance. If one of the moms squawks, I bet you'll be able to get away with saying something like, "Well, at our age, we just felt funny not having the invitations coming from us ourselves." It doesn't really make sense, but it has the advantage of not leading to hurt feelings about who deserves top billing for raising you or ponying up cash, and it will probably satisfy them (at least long enough for you to change the subject). If you do want the invitation to name your parents, you can do it -- but I would completely ignore the issue of who is paying how much or at all. It could be tricky with a step-parent, but not impossible. For example: Petunia Bride daughter of the late Dad Bride and Mom Bride, and step-daughter of Stepmom Bride (or whatever wording works for your family) and Cuthbert Groom son of the late Dad Groom and Mom Groom (or the late Mr. and Mrs. Dad Groom, if you can stand that) request the honor of your presence at their marriage date time place Good luck!

Hmmmm...it should have been in the divorce agreement. Mine spells out child support and that extracurricular activities are to be split (they are NOT included in the child support which is meant to cover everyday expenses). I must admit our agreement does not spell out who makes the decision on the activities; fortunately we have been able to agree on that topic.

Either way, the BM should not be making the decision alone and telling her kids to go see dad for payment. I do not advocate putting the kids in the middle but if you can not get anywhere with the BM, you might want to teach the kids they need to ask both parents for permission before getting their hopes up. It shows you respect the BM's authority and teaches the kids to respect yours.

Its not harsh ... sweeby ... I guess what I am hoping for is she will less willing to "sign them up" if she has to pay for half of it. We don't mind the activities really not a big deal but her telling them to ask daddy for the money part aggrevates ... would be nice if she would be civil enough to call and say ... hey junior wants to play baseball etc.

The divorce decree did not cover any of that .... only visitation schedule which she has failed to comply with.

Court put an order into effect neither parent can discuss CS or any part of ligitation with children. They go back to court the end of October for "modification" .... covering all bases with exactly what hubby wants. He wants the judge to decide how much time she whould spend with the children given all the facts. They sat with a "mediator" 10 days ago. Now they go back in front of a judge and let him decide since mediation did not resolve the conflict.

The mediator told them both to come in with exactly what they want and the judge will make a decision based on both parents needs and wants. And to cover everything related to the children right down to who pays for haircuts. Because she said to the judge ... he keeps dragging me into court ... judge told her until the youngest child is 23 you will be back in court as much as needed until you comply with my orders.

In my separation agreement it says that we will split the cost of agreed upon extracurricular activities - unfortunately my exH has never "agreed" to anything that the children have asked to sign up for, except for a couple of school field trips.

Wish we would have addressed this, as I've found nothing that specifies if CS is to cover the extras or not. We end up paying for it all and then some . . . .
