Thanks for the replies. You are probably right about it not being covered under warranty. Just wanted to see if anyone had postive experiences. I'm not sure if it was improperly installed. How can I tell? I'm fairly sure it was put in when the house was built (1996). We've lived in our house less than 1 year. How much would repairing it usually cost? Who do you call to start the process?

Not an expert here, just a homeowner with a similar experience...water on our windowsill after a heavy rain, but not always... just sometimes. It wasn't a problem with the window, or the flashing, or the roof above the window. From what we could tell, the problem stemmed from an upper roof, that dripped onto a lower roof that was above the window. The heavy rain would come off the upper roof and splash onto the lower roof with such force that it was bouncing back against the house clapboard. We're guessing that the water was somehow getting behind the clapboard and following the easiest path downward, by gravity, until it came out at the trim at the top of our window and dripped onto the sill. It took us quite a while to figure this out (and it is all really just a guess anyway), but the problem was solved when we put a small section of gutter on the upper roof. No more dripping water... no more leaking window. Water is funny. It may not come from where you think it would. During a renovation a few years ago, we had a heavy rain before a small section of the roof was entirely finished. Third-story roof, but the water leaked through a doorway in the middle of our first floor... nowhere near an outer wall. I hope this helps!

Tough for any one to tell from an interior shot of the window head but that water could be coming from anywhere unfortuately, including not the window, it just may be showing itself there. Maybe pitcures from the exterior would help. From both 10 to 15 ft and back as well as a close up of the window head, as well as the roof andsiding area above the window.

Ok. I really appreciate the feedback. You seem very knowledgeable. It is insane weather right now in Michigan and I am trying to picture what they are going to do to fix the window right now. If your right and Anderson decides to take out the IG unit, is that something that impossible with 0 degree weather? Or does that mean they just order a new window itself? I guess I am just wishing this was all over and I didn’t have any more leaks. At least the rain stopped and it turned to ice for this week. I wonder what people do with water coming in. Do you think water is only coming in the sill area? Or do you think it’s actually in my walls? Thanks for any more thoughts.
