Soy Gel opinions?

kitchenobsessed

An article on Real Milk Paint's website mentioned using soy gel to remove urethane before laying down a pure tung oil floor finish.

My hardwood floors were finished maybe 18 years ago by the prior owner, not sure with what, and it may not have been done by a *professional*. Could it be some type of varnish? It does not look plastic-y.

I am intrigued by the ability to repair pure tung oil in patches, as well as avoiding a lot of sanding near my newly painted baseboards if I use soy gel.

Any opinions on soy gel? The article also mentions cleaning up with TSP which I'm not sure one can still purchase in California.
