Replacement windows: Lincoln vs. Sierra Pacific vs. Andersen
Comments (10)@millworkman thank you for the thoughtful post. Couple questions / comment: - Between Lincoln and SP, how would you rank these? - Any suggestions of all aluminum (needs to be thermally broken)? - Any suggestions for steel replica aluminum? - I’m seeing Renewal in a couple days. Good to know. In response to your comment re our goal of steel aesthetic, that’s just the inspiration. I’ve seen & felt Lincoln and SP and do like the aesthetic. So it’s really more a question of performance and warranty reliability for those two. We currently have 90 year old single pane wood windows, so anything that fits aesthetically should be an improvement. @Ultra Windows Los Angeles...See MoreOkna Windows vs Andersen , Pella
Comments (0)Hi everyone, we are in the midst of researching replacement windows and dont know much. We are familiar with the andersen and pella brands but not Okna. Seems like many professional contractor and window forums like the Okna brand even though they are vinyl. We obviously saw both pella and andersen and based on some of the performance data we should be looking at, they are both only average? we also arent quite sure we want to deal with the maintenance issues of a wood window either. We did see pella vinyl and it looked and felt cheap so that window is no longer a consideration. Back to Okna which we saw for the first time this afternoon. An authorized okna contractor/ dealer came by to take the proper measurements and evaluations and showed us his Okna sample. We loved the way the Okna window looked despite it being vinyl. It looked sleek and seemed to be very high end. It definitely didnt have that cheap vinyl look, thats for sure. We have a nice home and only want to do this once. We are investing in 28 replacement windows, all of which are double hung style. We saw both the Okna 600 and Okna 800 series. We love the look of both and quite frankly i will let my husband decide since i will be happy with either. my question is this: how much better is the okna in terms of energy efficiency opposed to andrsen and pella ? Is $650 per window for Okna a good price? It includes installation....See MoreOkna Windows vs Window World
Comments (5)Okna is a much better window than Window World and its superior in every way. Window World is made for the budget minded consumer. FYI- window world do not make their own windows, they are made by MI Windows and some may still be made by Alside both of which are not known for making good / quality windows. Why do homeowners sometimes choose Window World? Because they are cheap and they only care about cost and not quality. Okna on the other hand is known for quality, looks, and having some of the best efficiency numbers in the industry. The Okna 500 is a very good window, however if you could see the Okna 600 “ eco pro”, you would really like it....See MoreOkna 400 vs Window World [base model]
Comments (12)"Many" do not like the WW base window. They just like a low price and delude themselves into believing that a low cost window and low cost labor somehow = a good deal. The Okna is much, much better, however as mentioned above, I'd strongly recommend stepping up at least one model to the Insultec/500 or higher....See Moretoddinmn
