Clean/Restore Formica Finish
Comments (20)When i lived in fl, our home had 1980's, dark brown, wood grain laminate countertops and cabinets. All in very good shape, but ugly! We painted the cabinets a golden yellow which actually made the countertops look not half bad. To shine them up, i found a product (actually saw it on an infomercial 1st) called rejuvenate. Found it at Home Depot eventually. It's a polymer coating which really added shine to the countertops. It's applied with a microfiber mitt and u literally paint it on with the mitt. Clean the countertops as directed and then apply the polish. Work quickly and in one direction. It looks great. It does not last forever, have to reapply every 1-3 months. Plan to use it now on not quite as ugly blue marble laminate. Good shape, but older. HD still carries it, check cleaning product aisle or kitchen remodeling dept. u can check availability of inventory for HD right on line for ur closest store. I've also had great luck filling small dings in laminate with wood putty and/or a magic marker or paint(paint must match exactly, of course). Rustoleum also makes a countertop paint which works well(not as shiny as new) but it does chip with heavy use, so I used polyurethane (spar) to topcoat. Took a long time to dry, but very durable....See MorePlease Help Finish Kitchen - Double Pendant Light
Comments (31)Katie - That could be a real possibility too. Looks like the height would work too. Thanks for the link and website. Redroze - I saw the two you posted on TOCL website today and really like both. I am planning on contacting them tomorrow. Here is my question, do you think this light from Rejuvenation is close enough to the top picture in your last post? The one from Rejuvenation is a little cheaper and I've seen it in person in satin nickel, but I'm not as crazy about the extra "balls" and "bulbs" on the rods. The one from TOCL seems simpler to me and might be worth the extra couple of hundred of dollars. Or would no one notice the difference? I swear I'm not normally this picky and usually can find lots of things I like, but for some reason now I feel like this stupid light has to be just perfect since I've already returned one. I should just had my electrician do two electrical boxes, but now the one is centered in the ceiling and he would have to cut two new holes and patch the old one. I'm not sure I want to go down that road. Here is a link that might be useful: Rejuvenation Light...See MorePlease help me! Restore A Deck / RAD
Comments (1)Better use the search function. Pressure Pros is Restore-A-Deck. They have no product and caused many problems within the industry when they failed to delivery product and from what I understand, did not refund all monies received. The product they were selling was from www.woodrich-brand.com/ Check out the website and find the product you need and have fun....See MoreHow to Restore/Refinish French Antique Parquet Table w/ Wax Finish
Comments (13)That's pretty! Search for veneers--a lot of woodworking online stores have assorted woods. I don't think it will be an easy job though. You'd probably have to take out the entire square so you can cut the veneer to match the grain from triangle to triangle. If it is a good table, it might be worth hiring a furniture restorer....See MoreUser
