Sorry, no it won't (go back to the way it's supposed to look). The future growth may improve but the old growth will not, it's fallacy to say otherwise & gives folks false hope. Once a succulent gets long, leggy & stretched out like that, one can't undo it short of cutting the top off & re-rooting the whole thing.

The only reason I was going to Restore it was that there are water marks and some strange yellowish residue on some of the wood. I have no idea what the yellowish residue is. Maybe once the deck is built I will try to wipe it off really good adn the water marks will come off when I sand. My wife and I have quite a bit of time and money invested in this deck and I am up for doing whatever it takes to help preserve it. The restore-a-deck will not harm new ipe wood, will it? If not and I did go ahead and use it would you recommend using it before or after sanding? Thanks again John, Ray

I have used their product too in the past and emailed them a few months ago. I have read many messages on this website that people were paying for, but not getting their products; this was last year I believe and several of the postings said the business was having problems. I never got a reply to my email. I ordered something else that is suppose to be the same thing according to postings I have read. EFC-38 (step 1: cleaner) and Citralic (step 2: brightener). I ordered it from: woodrich-brand.com. Click on wood cleaners on the left. I have not used it yet, so can't give you the outcome but the recommendations came from professional deck restorers that have posted to the Garden website. Hope this helps.

Other people have talked about using a lambswool pad on a stick to apply the TWP. Lambswool looks awfully hairy, though, and I wonder about leaving hairs behind on the wood. I wonder why lambswool is recommended? The TWP can didn't mention using a pad, but instead indicated using a brush, roller, or sprayer. The paint pad on a stick idea is appealing because we have some high places to get to. When you say "work it into the wood as much as possible", do you mean rub it in really well? What I had in mind to do was to apply the stain rather generously with the paint pad, let it soak in for a few minutes (maybe 10?), then rub off excess with a rag to avoid overapplication problems. We'd work in small sections especially since it's so hot and sunny right now. I didn't plan to try the wet on wet approach. The can specifically says only 1 coat on new wood, and with us being novices I was afraid of messing things up and getting a sticky result trying to put on two coats one after the other. Assuming all goes well and we get a coat of TWP on successfully, I'm assuming we'll need to reapply the finish yearly to maintain the nice color and UV protection? Will we have to go through the full RAD process every time?
