The True Hepa air filters have been wonderful for me. It keeps inflammation down, and that's a big deal for me. Any exposure to mold or heavy pollution of any kind inflames my lungs, and my lungs fills with fluid. That means another high dose course of steroids and sometimes oxygen therapy. I have 3 large Austin Air filters in my home. Their is 1 upstairs in the formal living/ dining area, and 2 in the huge family room in the lower level. They have to have a new filter every 5 years. The only things I don't like is their is no senor to let you know the filter is full. Otherwise awesome machines. In all the bedrooms I have the honeywell allergen remover true Hepa ( it has to be true Hepas) in the largest size. The Honeywell filters get changed more often then the Austins, and they are much easier to change as well. I also have my mattress and pillows encased in dust mite and waterproof protection. No carpets, I ripped them all out. Only hard wood, which is much more hygenic than carpeting. I stay on top of the furnace filter, and keep the house very clean. I have to even be careful about the indoor plants becoming a hazard for me. The machines are expensive, especially of you need multiple, but they have honestly been a life saver for me. A course of steroids for me is 4 months. And I am having to do it less often, and my oxygen levels are out of the 70's and into the mid 80's. It has been an investment, but it was worth it. My family's allergies are much better as well. I recommend really reading about any machines you are looking at. Look for a true Hepa ( and no Hepa filter is permanent), look at the filters, how much they cost and how often to replace. And look at the CADR- clean air delivery rate. Sorry, I wasn't crystal clear- wrote before my first cup of coffee. For the greenhouse windows, we are getting granite window sills/stools. My question is, as Casey and tkbalt were able to surmise, should the granite window sills in kitchen match the granite edge of the counter or the wood edge of all the 'other' windows in the house. So far, one each! :>) pcjs- yes, it is very tricky doing the return edges on those wooden stools, and really no one will ever see them unless they press their nose up against the outside wall- but we know they're there- and they sure are pretty!

I've heard good ol' BONDO does wonders in such cases, and of course it will NEVER rot or succumb to water. You said it's just for a shed, so maybe it doesn't matter if the result is not perfectly matched with the adjacent good wood...? I have no hands-on experience with the Bondo-on-wood game, but I am about to get some on the lower few inches of a doorframe that has rotted. Need to stop that process before it spreads up to the lower hinge. I have used Bondo's cousin, Marine-Tex, to repair fiberglass boats, but that was a while ago... ;')

PVC trimboards are not cheap. Like Todd, I'm somewhat confused about the specifics of exactly what they will replace. Typically the sill nose and brickmold are the pieces that rot. "sill and bullnose" is not typical lingo, so not quite sure what that all includes, and that will determine the fairness of that price. Based on the $600 window price point though, they sound like a fair company. Regarding the cladding, that is another option. It would still necessitate replacement of the rotted stuff however. You don't want to simply cap over rotted wood. I'd also mention that many companies won't offer painting services. It sounds though like you are electing to do that diy to save the $75 per?
